When was that? 😉

Bond since the 1970s has been pretty much a product placement nirvana 😗

I don't find Bond wearing an Omega to be excessive at all. It'd be one thing if he had a line like "Thank goodness for these Pirelli tires on my Aston Martin proudly built in Gaydon." But they don't even mention the brand Omega and it's a watch that makes sense for a spy to wear.

probably wouldn't wear my Tuxedo in water up to my neck either.

I'm guessing that's not a Tom Ford.

I think it fits DC as the unconventional Bond. Everyone else wears Rolex, he says fυck that I’m gonna go with Omega.

Why wouldn't it be?

They destroy cars, boats, planes and buildings in the making of Bond films... what's a suit? 😉

Ya that's not good. I didn't remember that line. Although that I feel like that is a back and forth had by people on this forum though. Rolex is the one watch brand everyone has heard of so that question would be asked. I'm probably just trying to rationalize it however.

Still not as bad as blatantly showing labels or other other things that take you out of the movie. Bond needs a watch and Omega pays for that watch to be theirs. Their investment has worked out I'm sure.

I think youre confused about product placement. Bond needed a beer so... he got a Heineken. He needed clothes so... he got Tom Ford....its more like... Bond needs a paychek, so be got an Omega.

I just mean it's not blatant. It doesn't detract from the movie. Having a line in the movie where Bond says "I only wear the finest suits, which are made by Tom Ford" is much worse than him unzipping a Tom Ford suit bag and never mentioning it. The scene would've been in the movie regardless, the suit just happens to be Tom Ford. Bond was going to wear a watch regardless, it just happens to be an Omega. (And that just so happens is because Omega gave the studio a lot of money, but that's not obvious)

I see your point but you wouldn't really wearing a blue rubber strapped dive watch with a Tuxedo it looks totally out of place tbh.

Right, i see your point, but thats exactly what product placement is as opposed to advertising. Product placement is about incorporating a product that has relevance being there, just making sure it is the right product and perceived the right way.

So your point is actually that it IS good product placement. Specially when there are several advertising campaigns that then bring focus into the placement, be it Tom Ford, glasses, beer, cars or watches

The lapels of a Tom Ford dinner jacket aren't so skinny that they expose the entire barchetta pocket, as is the case here.

If it wasn’t Omega or Tom Ford or Heineken, it’d be some other brands. Where is Bond supposed to find mysterious costume made beer?

Could this be a sneak peek of the new Tom Ford “pour piscine” range?
