What's Your Favorite Bond Watch?

Greetings all.
Just want to do a quick poll to see which Bond watch is the most popular on this forum. Any watch worn by James Bond in a movie qualifies. Is it an Omega? Or do you prefer the Rolex Sub? Or maybe there's another model out there that's under the radar?
Look forward to your responses.

I'll get the ball rolling:

Seamaster Pro 2531.80
Chronometer grade movement. Rugged yet stylish. Looks equally good on the beach or with a tux. A bit like Bond himself 😁

Oooh a thread I can really get behind. I'm binging bond movies until the new one comes out.

For me, if we are talking about the MOVIES, it is the Omega aqua terra 2nd edition. This is because it is versatile, sleek, beautiful in a uniform sort of way like a tailored suit or a walther ppk

Also, it is a competitor to another of my favourite bond watches that doesn't fit in this category. The Rolex Explorer, which I first heard about when I read casino royal at school.

Although it never appeared in a Bond film, my personal favorite is the 2012-2017 version of the Seamaster Professional diver, a direct descendant of the quartz version that debuted in Goldeneye. I think that this version represents the pinnacle of the design evolution for this model and it just works on every level. Great watch.

Bond wears an Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition steel on NATO strap, reference 233.32.41.21.01.001 in the movie SPECTRE.
The watch is both a diver and a two time zone watch with the rotating 12 hour indicators. There is of course a steel bracelet for the watch as well as the NATO.

I don’t remember the watch in The Living Daylights, but I sure do remember Maryam D’Abo. Wow, just wow.

The 42mm 2500 PO worn in QoS is my personal favorite followed by the SMP 300M Diver worn in Casino Royale.

Plus infinity for the Planet Ocean.
You wanna watch for the Craig interpretation of the character, that’s the one. Especially the Quantum version. The only thing more underrated - under appreciated -than the movie is the watch.

How is it that in Ian Fleming’s book Live and let Die, James Bond is wearing a Rolex on his underwater activities?

It was always a Rolex in the books. Omega got its foot in the door of the Bond franchise when a costume designer decided that Bond needed a more modern image and selected the SMP for Pierce Brosnan to wear in Goldeneye. After that, Omega pulled off a coupe in product placement and Bond has worn an Omega in every film since. Truly an example of Omega “outrolexing” Rolex, culminating in this sharp stick in Rolex’s eye:

I just finished reading Live or let Die. First Bond book I have ever read. So I was a bit surprised that Omega had seemingly insinuated itself into the Bond stories. Speaking personally, I don’t own a “Bond” Omega, and have no plans to acquire one. I own more Omegas than any other brand, except for my Accutrons. I have more of those. But no “Bond” Omega.

In one sense it was odd that Fleming chose to specify the watch on Bond's wrist in the scuba scene in that book as a Rolex - the book appeared in print in March 1954, the same year that the first Submariner was introduced. I don't think Fleming had advance notice of Rolex's marketing plans. Rolex is only mentioned specifically in two of the original novels, the other one being On Her Majesty's Secret Service, in which Bond awakens in the middle of the night to check the time. The watch on his wrist is "a Rolex Oyster Perpetual on an expanding metal bracelet." Maybe a Submariner, maybe not.

Could it be that Rolex was Johnnie on the spot back in the 1950s, and did what they had to do, to have Rolex mentioned in these two books? Then possibly changed their minds about the use of the Rolex name in any of Fleming’s other books. Was a watch of any particular maker mentioned in any other of the Bond books? I’ll just have to read more of them, I guess. What surprises me is that Omega hasn’t done what is necessary to have the
Omega name inserted in these two books, to replace the Rolex name. Surely, if it was only money that could make this happen……….!

Yes, prior to Goldeneye, but not after. I remember Roger Moore wearing some pretty funky watches in the 1970s Bond films.

Yes a variety of watches have been used - same with the cars. People get very tied up about what this fictional character uses, but in the end money talks...
