New Bond Omega?

Nothing wrong with the original version, it's more movie accurate.

Its just worrying though that some have broken theirs as seen in my previous post, so much so that Omega has to redesign it to make it stronger. Its crazy how those parts broke off clean. For a watch at this price, that's just ridiculous for it to break like that.

Where were these instances first reported? And do we know how many? Has anyone in here had any first-hand experience with the bracelet breaking?

I talked to a watch tech today and they hadn’t personally heard about any widespread issues. They mentioned something similar to an auto manufacturer identifying an issue with a car - there’s a Service Bulletin or flag in the system so if the issue happens they know the fix; whether it’s a replacement part or repair. There’s also apparently a longer strap for individuals with large wrists.

I showed them the pictures of the two bracelet versions here as well as the broken bracelets and they seemed surprised. I still want one pre-change because I want it to be as close to the movie as possible. I’m curious to see how widespread this actually is though.

This guy is currently my favourite YouTuber when it comes to watch videos. Macro shots, descriptions, background music.. All his videos are worth a viewing. And I'm not surprised that his most recent video review of the No Time To Die watch is the best one yet! Check it out!

He raises an interesting point about the bezel, which I had actually noticed on mine as well - you almost can't turn it, it's so stiff. Wasn't sure if this is any different from a standard 300M though

I’ve always found the bezel action on all seamasters to be a notch behind the submariner and even the black bays. Each of the seamasters I have handled recently has been fairly poor in that regard. Only my view however....

The bezel of the 300M has always been more difficult to turn because of its lack of coin/saw edge.

From a diver's perspective (and the few people who still actually use it for that purpose), the Omega bezels with their stiffer action are actually better as it minimizes the change of turning them by accident when you bump into someone/something underwater. The wave bezel of the 300M eliminates accidental turning almost completely, although it can be a bitch to set in the first place.

For desk divers, the Submariner is no doubt unmatched and has the most enjoyable action and click to it.

That’s a fair shout and I fit that criteria going no deeper than my occasional bath!

Yeah, I tend not to use unidirectional bezels much at all really. For cheaper divers (>$1k) I'll usually pop the bezel off and remove the spring so it becomes friction-fit. I did this to my Mido and it increased my enjoyment of it twofold

I had a chance to check out the watch with the revised bracelet affixed side by side with the original pre-revision mesh. The new endlinks are noticeably meatier and the mesh is also thicker than the original starting at the endlinks.

As far as appearance, they still look very similar but after scrutinizing them, the original one seems to line up better with the tip of the lugs and is also the screen accurate version for the die-hard nerds out there.

I really want to find out if the rubber strap from the current Seamaster diver will fit this watch though. I did a render and it looks great.

It should, the case dimensions are the same as the steel and I don't think the spring bar holes are placed differently.

Do you have a photo of the side by side: original versus new mesh? Would love to see it

I didn’t take any pictures. OmegaBondWatches on IG posted pictures comparing the two versions though. I keep going back and forth with which one I want to get. The fact that there were enough instances of the bracelet breaking to create a revision sort of concerns me.

The Seamaster Facebook group already mentioned that it won’t fit. The lug holes are in a different spot even with the same case dimensions.

Just like Omega to pull something like that... though I suppose with the straight-end bracelet there might be a legit reason to do that. This time. 🫨

I’ve been hearing some rumblings about rubber straps fitting with curved spring bars. More to follow.

A 9000 dollar watch and the bracelet breaks in a few weeks of use. That's terrible.
Don't they test for this kind of stuff. Give it to someone running a marathon and then someone fixing a car.
It will be tested quickly and fully. A metal bracelet should not be held together by a little bit of glue.
