Morning all. Rumour has it that there's to be a new Bond Omega limited edition launched later this year. Anyone else heard this and know more? My guess is 007 will be wearing the new SMP in Bond25 so it'll likely be a tie-in with that perhaps?
Apparently it will have specks of the gold on the caseback from the woman covered in gold in Goldfinger
LE Titanium, Tantalum and Sedna gold watch was posted on Omega IG https://www.instagram.com/p/BvuCVBeFbog/ Also, on WUS someone posted a gray dial brack bezel combo for Diver 300m, which a regular model I guess.
We needed worry our pretty little heads about this, it will be limited to 007 pieces and we'll never get one...
It’s limited to how many Omega can sell. Hopefully they keep all of the 007 stuff muted on the watch like the Spectre LE. The past LE was just too much 007 and was too in your face.
To be fair I had this too and was only when the light catches it else its not as bad. The bullet and gun rifling on the caseback was one of my fav LE backs absolutely genius
My understanding from my OB was they are indeed releasing a 007 edition, but it is not coinciding with a 007 movie since one is not being released this year. It will celebrate the whole 007 franchise. I'm not sure what that will look like though...but my guess will be a 300m Diver variation of some kind...
Nothing is more embarrassing than the whole Bond product placement childishness, unless it's the "manual" He valve that now can be used underwater, according to Omega. There is no way in hell you would ever use an He valve anywhere but in a diving bell/saturation environment. It's really pretty pathetic.
According to another thread I can't find right now, it's likely a new 007 edition will be unveiled on May 15. Personally I think the release of a Bond-but-not-Bond-25 related watch this year would be too close to the opening of the new movie in April 2020 (with the likely release of an actual Bond 25 watch). Then again, there's apparently no such thing as too frequent with Omega LEs.
This is just my opinion but I think Omega would sell more "bond" watches if they stopped making them limited edition. I know I started looking at Omega after seeing the watch on a bond movie, but it was limited edition, over priced and more difficult to find. I never bought it.
