3+ years with the best Speedmaster limited edition ever made by Omega. 馃榾

Feeling a little nostalgic today.

And missing @Darlinboy's holiday photo contest.

Seeing the price in your original post Vs what they go for today is very disheartening if you don鈥檛 own one.

I'm 21. My father got me in to watches. He got me a cheap Quartz citizen at a young age, then an auto orient, a Bernhardt and an accutron VX200. Now I've got the bug almost as bad as he does although his collection is much better. Maybe you could buy him a cool watch? It doesn't always work (I've done it with my friends... And then cry inside when I see naked wrist) but it's worth a shot. The WIS syndrome IS contagious although sometimes you have to try hard to infect. Just my $0.02 as a son.

He sent me this picture yesterday of his wrist. We basically have our own WRUW texts 馃槈

BTW if I was your son you would get lots of compliments and stares. THAT is a BEAUTY. I really really love it!!!

Edit: like father like son. My 2254, being 9 hours away from my Dad it's cool to be wearing the same watch. Can't explain it.

Ah the 2254, my first serious watch. A classic piece goes with everything

I thought I would revisit a 10+ year old thread. I still own the Gemini IV Speedmaster (AKA The Best Ever Limited Edition Speedmaster"). I do not wear it often enough, but I still think it is the best ever LE Speedmaster Omega has produced.

I'm curious what makes the watch so special for you?
I'm a huge Speedmaster fanatic. I coined the term Speedmaster Decades Collection (SDC). An SDC is a Speedmaster from every decade one has lived. I believe there are a few of us here. As far as this watch goes, I was mesmerized by the blue dial and the overall look. It looks so very different than the regular Speedmaster. It's one of the first limited edition watches that was not gold or with a black dial, and I love the history of it being associated with the first moon walk.
