No doubt @cell1010, you are referring to the missing double expansion links on some of the 7077 bracelets. It's some thing I have to deal with on a daily basis but life goes on,

OK, so what's an "Aldo bezel"?

I've been idle for some time, but is this an italian guy I've heard about, and does he do bezels for all SM300's?

Where do we contact him if so?

Awesome watches by the way! Out of my range these days price wise, sigh

Aldo can be reached, via OF at, @aldo. He also has a website.

He is a master at vintage servicing and restoration. One of his specialties is restoring the earliest SM300 bakelite bezels (ref 2913, 14755 and the earliest 165014. If you look at the pic I posted yesterday, the 2 SM300 on the right are both 14755-61. One is all original and the other is restored by Aldo (including the bezel). Looking at my own picture, I"m not positive which is which (I think the last one is the all original example). To a trained eye and a 10x loupe, the difference is easy to see. His work is excellent but it does take time to get the job back.

One word of caution regarding SM300 bezels. Although they look identical, the 2913 and 14755 bezels are different and are not inter-changable. Bottom line, make sure you are sending the correct bezel to be restored.

Patiently waiting on an Aldo bezel...only 4 weeks in.

I'm thinking of ordering one too. Must you send them the bezel for them to fit the Bakelite insert in?

Yep, once you've spoken just send the bezel insert to him, that's what i did. It's easier and safer than sending the whole watch to Italy!

Yes, its not "fitted" in...its made on the bezel. It takes upwards of a year or longer...so patience is the key.

I clicked on this thread thinking it was going to be the big @ChicagoFrog reveal after all the heavy selling recently!
