Movado HS 360 Datron Super Sea Sub 41mm, automatic PHC 3019 (similar El Primero). Quick set date. Serviced August, 2021. Chronograph, quick set date all function correctly.

(Note: original means appears correct vintage and manufacturer. I have no knowledge that anything was replaced unless stated.)

Original Guy Feres bracelet with dive extension.
    Original MC endlinks.
    Original rotating Bakelite bezel.
    Original screw-in crown.
    Original crystal.
Pusher cap for start/stop is replacement (slightly smaller compared to reset).
    Tritium lume in good condition.
Minute sub-register hand is white. Other two steel. Some of these Datrons came with steel or white. It's possible it was replaced.

This watch attracted me because Jerry Carr wore a similar Datachron HS 360. His was also a blue dial. Jerry wore his personal Movado on the same flight as his crewmate Bill Pogue, who wore his Seiko. The first two known automatic chronographs in space.

Condition wise the dial has started to brown on the edges, which is what we often describe as a tropical dial. I'm not saying it is a tropical dial, but instead directing your attention to the dial edges.

The bezel has a couple dings, with a small crack near the 8 o'clock area. As far as these bakelite bezels go, IMHO this one would be in better than average condition with its nice patina lume at 12.

The case appears unpolished with good brushing. There are some light scratches near the lugs that seemingly came from spring bar scratches, as well as very small dings in a few spots.

The endlinks are a bit wobbly and could use some adjusting to make the bracelet line up better with the case. I didn't want to mess with them. The first link on both sides under the endlinks are also a bit bent. Otherwise the bracelet looks good. It's longer than my 7.25 inch wrist.

The dive extension did not come on all these Super Sub Seas but people more knowledgeable than I am believe it was originally offered by Movado. Both the ladder style Guy Feres bracelet and dive extension are not rare but they aren't often seen either.

The service is not warrantied but it was done by a local watchmaker who has 30 plus years experience and who regularly services Rolex and Omega, amongst others.

Price is reduced to $3950 USD with shipping and insurance to continental US and Canada. Elsewhere to be discussed.

Returns only if the watch was not described accurately. In that event, please notify me within two days after delivery. Return shipping and insurance to be split, in the event I missed something. Please examine the photos closely, as I have tried to show the good, bad and the ugly. PM if you have any questions.

Watch is located on West Coast, USA.

    Yes and no.

I don't have a post service photo but I have one from the time I purchased it. Also, one at the start of service. I ask for a photo every time but the watchmaker doesn't remember or want to.

I'd have to take it to the watchmaker to remove the case if a potential buyer needed to see the movement first.

Great looking Datron, remember it was the first Automatic chronograph in space, worn by Skylab-4 commander Gerald Carr in 1973-74
(fellow astronaut Skylab-4 William Pogue wore a Seiko 6139 on the same mission, lasting 84 days onboard NASA's Skylab space station)
#MoonwatchUniverse was thrilled to co-operate on this article about Carr's Datron:
