To be fair, no, they are by no means affordable anymore.
Some of the rarest versions (like the Genta Mickey sailor) get 5 figures now, crazy as that might sound.
I was in my Watchmaker’s shop dropping something off for repair and a gentleman came in and put five Mickey Mouse watches on the desk, getting service tickets. He saw me looking, commented on the omega I had and told me he has a business selling Disney memorabilia, mainly watches. He had one 18kt gold one. He was telling me some are in the 5 figures and he has actually sold them for that. He started as a little side business but that’s all he does now. It sounded cool, not only making enough money to do just that but Disney is his thing so his hobby/passion/obsession is his business.

Here is mine from the great Gerald Genta - automatic jump hour retrograde

Mickey and Genta are inextricably linked for me and the first thought that comes to my head. Nice one.

Bulova makes up the majority of them now. I think there are very few Citizen models. I have a Bulova branded one, but do not have a wrist shot of it on my phone 😵‍💫. Will post a photo once I get home to the box.

I read somewhere that Citizen bought Bulova.

Yes, over 10 years ago.

As a note, since my post in September, I had another trip in December in which I saw significantly more Citizen branded Disney watches.

Retro vs Double Retro

Debating which Genta Mickey to get -

Retro

Or bi retro

My watchbox has space for only one.

Both have a jumping hour and retrograde minutes.

The biretro has an additional retrogade date.

The retro is 34mm while the biretro is 41mm.

The retro is steel while the biretro is titanium.

I like the dial of the retro. But find the size small.

Wacha think? Thanks.

Between the two, I like the retro. Also, the biretro looks to be quite large especially knowing it is 41mm.

^ thanks. Am leaning retro also. Good that mickey’s hand us functional there. Though the little mickey’s hand in the biretro is functional also.

I dont mind the 41mm. I also like the deployant clasp and double GG clasp of the biretro.

But overall i feel that the retro is the mickier of the two mouses.

+1 for retro also

Definitely the more classic looking Mickey on this one.

As much as I appreciate anything original I quite liked the Damien Hirst/Swatch collaboration.

Picked one up for the wife last year. The box was pretty cool also.

I managed to pick up 3 Micky Spot Mirror Swatch for future grandkids when they came out - they don't look as good as this one.

I picked up a Mirror Spot Mickey as well when I purchased the Spot Mickey as they were been sold as a set.

I didn't mind the look of the Mirror Spot but been the larger 41mm diameter it was too big for my wife and it was sold.

Asking and sold prices on eBay seem to have crept up since I purchased mine. Maybe I should have hung on to it 🙁

I think this collaboration was the first time Mickey Mouse appeared on the dial of a Swatch Watch.

So far I have not seen any other Swatch models with Mickey Mouse, except the children's Flik Flak range with Disney characters on the band.
