I get the impression a fair few folk would only wear a watch if the strap colour matched their belt and/or shoe leather colour?

What do others think?

I think this is a bit of a weird post.

Wear what you like, if it makes you happy to colour coordinate, great, if not, great.

You have me bang to rights.

I am Guilty As Charged.

I think this is aimed more at the dress watch gang.
Let's face it - a SS bracelet goes with anything.

I wear a suit every day - and I'm guilty too.
Wouldn't dream of wearing a black strap with brown shoes/belt

I used to pick a watch (strap) to match what I was wearing.
But I've just realised that more and more, recently, I've been picking my clothes to match the watch I want to wear that day. 😬

Again, Guilty as Charged on this second count.

I'm with you on that (although it's evident it's not uncommon )

I know I promised not to use this but it needs to be done! It's inventor also used to be a sticker for matching leather as I recall.

Sure. In my semi-retired life I match the leathers. Matching the leathers...belt, watchstrap, shoes...is easy. Do you match the metals...rings, watch case, belt buckle, and cufflinks...to complete the ensemble?

I always struggle with which watch strap to wear with my regular Saturday night clothes.

WUS-like question or not I will answer.

If I am wearing a suit, which I rarely do, I will try to match belt, strap and shoes. Most times though I wear dark jeans instead of my suit pants and don't wear a belt, so only match shoes and strap. I try to keep the colours very close and not mix different brown colours too much. My brown dress shoes goes really well with the colour 8 Horween shell cordovan

I'm afraid it's more WIS OCD than WUS. 😬

Guilty [emoji15]

....of replying to a WUS-esque thread as well as being (occasionally) OCD with the matching thing.

My Titanium bracelet sort of matches my elastic waisted track pants (the greyish ones), but clashes horribly with my black thongs (bathroom wear) and my tan UGG slippers (house wear) but does seem to match parts of my Keen hike shoes (going to the shops wear).
