Low power reserve on a 20 year old 1863

Hi everyone

Have a 1863 with low power reserve - have to wind it about twice a day to keep it going?
Is this easy to fix on a service?
Roughly what would it cost to fix?

Could be the main spring broken, of course can be replaced by a good watchmaker who can order Omega spare parts.
If you say where you live, I'm sure OF members near your area will tell you where to send your watch.

I guess if the main spring was broken,he would feel it slipping while winding the watch.

Exact. So there is something which prevents to wind totally. Something which blocks the spring?...
(I hope specialist will answer... I'm curious to understand... Cause I'm not a specialist, think you saw that... 😁)

Omega watch service for mechanical chronograph appears to be $750 USD.

It may also be possible to find an independent watchmaker with an Omega parts account.

It will be easier for the watchmaker to diagnose the problem with the watch in hand (as opposed to doing it over the internet), and he will fix it while doing the service.

Do you wind it until the crown will no longer turn? If not, try that.

This is the correct answer. If the watch hasn't been serviced in a long time, who knows what's going on inside.
