So far I have not found any megaquartz scrap cheap on the bay. The 134x keep me pretty much occupied in the quartz department.
Of course none of this is ever really cheap. All of those 'skip the fast food hamburger lunch' purchases add up. Then it seems like there is a common part missing, which is another 35 bucks or more. Now some sellers are asking more like 70 for common parts.
It is curious with these early electronic watches (and cameras) how many do not bother with them. Yet we know have cheap simple microcontroller 'kits' like Arduino and raspberry pi which can act as test equipment and even replacement circuits.
Would be nice to see more technical discussion given that many of the 'specialists' are at retirement age.
