Longines monocoque adventures

It’s back.

Some months ago I posted a longish history of my travails with these monocoque Admiral 5 stars, the difficulty in sourcing parts and the help I’d received from @noelekal and @ChrisN.

I won’t reiterate what I said before but, having got this silver dial 6651 version back, it developed a further problem. When I pulled the crown/stem to adjust the date or time, the stem would come away and the watch would go back to my persevering Birmingham watch repairer.

He came to the conclusion that the unsigned and probably generic crystal wasn’t sufficiently wide enough to hold/restrict the movement firmly and has fitted a wider crystal.

I hadn’t considered this as a problem with a monocoque watch but, now I know, I thought I’d post about it.

I have all three here and my fingers crossed.

Those are such handsome watches Spruce!

Watches like those make it difficult not to consider vintage Longines to be one's favorite watch from bygone times.

These are very nice. I’ll have to put them on my radar. I could go for the black dial. I’ve never been into Longines. I don’t know why. Didn’t know anything about them. I recently watched a Teddy B. video where he visited the factory and I was very impressed with their history.
