    Greetings!!

I picked up what seemed to be a nice Omega Deville monocoque on ebay which was a reasonable price.

When it arrived, I thought of giving it a good check over -movement and all !!!

I tried to remove the crown believing it was a split system, but no matter what I did, it was stubborn and would not come out. I even tried to make a tool from some old presto hand plungers but again no go. You can feel that it is not going to come out and what if some idiot has shoved in a complete stem instead of a two piece split stem? Has anyone experienced this and if so, how did you manage to remove the movement without damaging the keyless works ? Just dazzled

I had a Mido Ocean Star that someone had glued the two piece stem together.

To remove the stem you have to turn the crown so the Mido name is horizontal then the movement drops out. I guess this guy pulled the crown and damaged the stem and then glued them back together.

Could be what happened with your watch?
