If you can see it with the naked eye, it is substandard (Omega's standard, not mine). Can you return items bought directly from Omega? It's not a warranty issue, but rather an item not being as described.
I can see it in direct sunlight. However other light its harder to see

If you're in the UK and purchased it from a UK merchant then you can just return it without any explanation required for a full refund under CCR (Consumer Contracts Regulations which replaced DSR, Distance Selling Regulations). You would be responsible for any return postage costs though. The coverage applies to any goods that are not personalised, made to order or breach hygiene standards (food and other consumables, etc.). This is assuming it has not been damaged in any way. Opening and inspecting an item does not invalidate the protection you get from CCR.

Then just order another one. Or speak to Omega and inform them this is your intention since you're not happy with the watch you received and they may offer you a compromise.

The EU have a similar law. Otherwise, no idea what your country offers.

They need to do it in a clean room. I had the same issue but with another watch brand. The authorised centre tried to clean but it turned out more dust came in. End of day, no choice and just live with it.

As long as Omega open it up under the warranty, just have them remove the lint. It'd drive me crazy. Plus, if it moved from its current position, surely it's still there and will be a constant source of irritation?

I decided to get it taken care of by swatch group

ehhh I’m still waiting for an estimate on my repair since I sent in my watch back in March 2nd. I emailed them to follow up and see if they ever got my watch and they said it was “in line” LOL. I would had gone to a boutique with a faster turn around time, but now i have to wait, good luck!

If you live near a boutique I’m sure they will open it for you and just use their magic tools to get rid of the lint, I’m like you I panic if something’s off and won’t stop until it’s fixed!

Most boutiques (in the US) do not have a watchmaker on site. They ship it to one of their service centers. Something like this will be taken care of very quickly. Less than 2 weeks if you are marked as a VIP client.

Big NOPE. About to be 3 months in June since I haven’t heard a peep from them. I haven’t gotten the estimate for the repair and since I haven’t heard from them, I’m going to make a plea to get this serviced at their expense for their horrible customer support or extra work in exchange. I had to reach out for them to let me know my watch was received by them because I never got a confirmation email, knowing my watch is on queue to get looked at, they can take their time to be honest.

I miss the watch but I have no clue what’s the hold up, I read the swatch groups financial report from last year, they got it pretty rough but I am also being patient knowing they are probably understaffed, I had dealt with the swatch group repairs before so i know something’s up to say the least, Usually they send you pictures of your watch for their estimate but I check my email daily and so far nothing. But Heck I service a Rolex during the pandemic and by the 3rd month I was hit with the service fees and done being fixed, this is the complete opposite

Good luck with that! Honestly, when it comes to something like a speck of dust or a slightly misaligned hand I have learned not to send a watch in for an intervention, they can, and have, come back with a new nick or scratch, or some other issue. No man made object is perfect, I have learned to live with the oddities that can crop up in watches. Unless it affects the actual function of the watch, like a bezel popping off or a complication not working, I don't fiddle with the small details. But I've been in this collecting game since 1979 and one learns what can be expected and what can't. They are never perfect.

I think I would have sucked up the cost and paid a watchmaker to open it up and get in there with Rodico. Annoying, but sending it back home was definitely a recipe for a long wait. We’ve been there. Just be patient. Forget about it and it’ll be a pleasant surprise when it returns.

This is why one should never place a crystal over one's belly button. 🙄

Thats frustrating. They just pushed my estimated date of completion back a few weeks and this is supposed to be a service under warranty. It's probably short staffing

When Omega sent the email about the estimate it didn’t have anything, I didn’t know I was supposed to check it for approval, so it’s been sitting since March. My mistake but I never got an email from them about it either, I got curious today to check the email about what they mentioned and lo and behold the estimate was quoted back on 3/5.

For the issues I asked for they are quoting me $1,750 usd just to replace the crystal, bezel, polishing AND Water resistance, I just wanted the Crystal and Bezel but seeing that prize for a bezel ring gave me a heart attack, I’ll just stick with the crystal and cleaning but they are telling me the water resistance is mandatory and I’m like it’s cosmetic but since they have to take it apart and reseal I’m like WTF!? I mean thankfully the bezel scratch is not that noticeable, the crystal one was, we will see.

This exact situation happened to me with the same watch, and the omega boutique got me a brand new watch within one day. Omega is usually really receptive to this kind of stuff
