Lint under crystal, driving me crazy.

I received this watch from an online order from omega directly. I love the watch. However there is a piece of lint under the crystal that is stuck to the glass that won't move. It's driving me crazy. I want it gone but I don't want to have to have a new watch opened so soon! Should I contact omega about this? I spent a lot of money I want an immaculate watch.

Might as well send it back. It’s under warranty. You know the lint is there. Even if it moves, you’re going to see it. If it’s bothering you it will continue to bother you.

Might as well. Its frustrating that I have to do that.

Just to add, I received it 4 days ago.

I doubt the lint will cause any damage to the watch, if that's the question. Just a cosmetic issue and entirely at the OP's discretion.

Agreed @dan1 . I just could tell the lint bothered OP, he might as well get it fixed. When you purchase a new timepiece, there is a level of quality you expect from the manufacturer. With an Omega, or even a Rolex, you at least expect a lint-free dial.

No doubt it is bothering him. He joined OF to complain about it.

If something that microscopic gets under your skin, wait until you get that first big scratch....

Exactly. Im not going to look at it under a microscope, but I can see it very clearly from about a foot away.

I'm calling omega tomorrow. I hope they will take care of this and it won't end up with more in the case.

Not even close to being the same thing.

Fair enough....However, it's not a Patek or an AP. Maybe then there's a complaint to be made. These are mass produced and aren't always perfect. I could see getting it rectified at it's first service, but beyond that, not worth being too concerned about, but then again that's just me. I can get meticulous over things, but this wouldn't bother me a bit.

Quality work and good customer service should be expected no matter the price point.

If it were a $25 Fossil, I’d still send it back.

Again, just my opinion....Don't have to agree. If you sent everything back that you purchased that had a manufacturing flaw, you wouldn't own much. The op stated he didn't want a brand new watch that will have to be opened. I get that....If he really wants to play hardball, he can demand a new watch or his money back. Either way, for him at least, the joy of a new watch purchase is tainted. My point is, just wear and enjoy. Then again, Omega may make it right and all will be good in his horological world.

The only way that Omega can get rid of the lint is to open the watch. Under warranty, I suspect they will likely want to fix the watch that you have.

You’re welcome to have a lower standard, I was simply stating mine. Wasn’t responding to you, or I’d have quoted you, as I am doing now.

Thanks for the clarification, sir. Didn't mean to step on your toes. And for the record, my standards aren't low, just realistic.😀

A new one would be preferred. A trade.

If you can see it with the naked eye, it is substandard (Omega's standard, not mine). Can you return items bought directly from Omega? It's not a warranty issue, but rather an item not being as described.
