Lets talk watch display cases/storage

I searched around and found a few one off threads where watch display cases and/or storage was discussed but I didn't see anything recent (so my apologies if I missed a bigger thread with this information already in it).

How are all of you displaying your watches? When I first got into this hobby (that I told my wife I wasn't getting "into"), I bought a display case off of Amazon with spots for 6 watches. It's nice, and decent enough. But I'm very soon going to have 9 watches and plan to get a few more.

What is everyone using for storage/display?

I'm also starting to get a few NATO straps for the watches, too. Does anyone have anything that stores all of your watches AND your straps? Interested to see any pictures if you have any. TIA!

Right there with you. I bought a few watches, then got an 8 slot box with a clear top. 8 is lots right? 6 months later I have 19 watches and still looking...

I guess this means I'm not really a watch collector and will have to settle for watch enthusiast, but for storage, I just use random small boxes I find around the house. Spare straps on the bottom, covered by a microfiber cloth, and then the watch. I stuff a folded paper towel in the box top for moisture control. My display case is my wrist.

I understand what you're saying (re: enthusiast vs collector)... but I don't want to have to hunt around for the watch I want to wear, you know? So I really am looking for function over form, for the most part anyways.

Well, I'm a little OCD, but you may have noticed that my boxes are color coded. 😀

One case from Amazon. Holds 20.

One from the (defunct) Carolina Case Co. Holds 36.

And one watch roll which holds a dozen odd. Everything I don’t have space to store, I wear.

I have a larger ‘cheap’ display box for a photo on the rare occasion I have everything together. I have watches dispersed with some in storage / other locations (boxes are too big anyway so are in store), In this day and age, depending on location having everything on show and in one spot is a risk….something to keep in mind.

I tend to favor mobile security systems to protect my valuables.

My “mobile security “ won’t deter or protect anything, but they are fun to have around.

I’m not sure about that. A really pissed off house cat with claws can do some serious damage!

That.... is AMAZING! It's too bad my Speedmaster box is nowhere near that size (As they switched to a smaller box in 2021 or 2022...)

But damn, that would have been perfect.
I got my Speedmaster late 2022. Didn’t realize they made the box smaller but I’d imagine it could still hold 8 watches. I may modify mine like this one day.

Really? I got mine in March of 2022. Did I not get the right box (it totally wouldn't surprise me with my AD)... because it certainly looks smaller than the one in that link.

You’re right it is pretty small. 6 watches then. 😁

I think it would be tight with 6 watches. 3 watches across would be fine but two rows would be tight I think.

Now I want the bigger box!
