I am looking for a couple of NATO strap options for hard wearing beater situations (Pulsar G10) One with RAF / military DNA and perhaps something a bit modern and funky. Any recommendations which won’t break the bank? There seems to be so many and I am not good with choice (most of my watches stay on the factory option) Thanks. .
Have a look at Sniper Bay on Amazon, nice and chunky. I have bought several natos from Amazon on price just to swap around on beaters, £10-15 each. Almost disposable price. There doesn’t seem to be much to go wrong with any of them.
I've bought from Bark & Jack and I think Gecko. Both ok, the B&J one better quality but I have limited experience.
RSM Natos are really good. I like their single-pass vintage military collection. The material is very soft and the colors are great for vintage aesthetic. This particular line shows some fraying, but it is expected of the material. I value comfort over anything when it comes to nato straps.
I ended up stealing a Maratac strap off another watch - very pleased with how it wears and it seems robust. .
I've bought some cheap NATOs off of Gecko and Zuludiver and I've been pleasantly surprised by both at the price.
I paid £3.39 for this woven perlon strap. Various colours and widths available https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25338661...ffo82JQ8S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAILPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
CNS (Cheapest Nato Straps) ? Seems to offer a bunch of straps for pretty cheap, which allows you to experiment. I've bought a bunch from them, in the past, although I actually don't use any of them.
Phoenix NATO straps are good quality and £15 a throw. Eulit Perlon straps are also good. Bought a few Perlon straps from Watchobsession that were cheap and have lasted really well. Prefer Perlon straps to NATO straps most of the time as they sit better on the wrist rather than the NATO bulking them out.
I’ve brought plenty of nato straps from eBay in the past for about £10 or under. The quality can vary a bit though. I’ve found the best quality ones to be the seatbelt material ones. I recently got a couple from CWC. These ones are single pass, so quite thin but don’t seem to be fraying after regular use like some others do. https://www.cwcwatch.com/collections/cwc-straps-accessories/products/single-pass-ribbed-cwc-strap
Phoenix for sure, The Perlons I have I have simply bought the colour that matches, sky blue for 6bb, burgundy red for 555 etc, There is one set of Nato's/other i've been meaning to try from: https://zulualphastraps.com/collections/all-products Now for Something a little different The A.F.0210 reproduced here along with sever other styles https://af0210strap.com/shop/ Perhaps some thing for a silly english kanigget https://www.fratellowatches.com/ndc...arine-nationale-parachute-elastic-strap/#gref I also have an exotic 2nd hand Kangaroo leather from tannery in Paris that came along with a purchase. If you can find someone to make a Nato for you I'd highly recommend as its one of my fave straps. Here is a quick link (out of stock and in US) but gives you an idea of the look https://www.crownandbuckle.com/saddle-kangaroo.html All the best
Thinking about it I ended up with a Zulu and not a NATO so my question was a bit flawed.... . Watch 101: What is the Difference Between a NATO Strap and a Zulu Strap? (theoandharris.com)
I’m in the US but I just got some ribbed NATOs from StrapnTailor and they’re pretty great. Not budget IMO though. What about cheapest NATO straps, that’s in the UK if I recall.
