When the Saturn V came out, I started a new tradition where every Father's Day I build a big set with my girls. I am a big space nerd so naturally we have done the Space Shuttle, lunar lander, ISS, and a few others. During the quarantine, we built the Voltron set and this year added Optimus Prime. I came of age during the classic space era, so the new Galaxy Explorer was a must have and we built that over Christmas along with the Loop Rollercoaster. The Loop is really phenomenal, so big but really cool. I have the BTTF Deloran set already set aside for Father's Day this year. They have made so many cool sets over the past 10 years.

I have a Saturn V that should come this week, fingers crossed it’s got all the parts 😀

I’ve gone on a bit of a Lego spree since December when my 3 year old got her first set and loved it. We’ve been building non stop.

I feel like it took twice as long putting together because I picked it up second hand. Had to sift through 1969 pieces instead of a bunch of smaller bags.

I have been trying to stay away from the Lego bug for years, my only satisfaction is every time I pass by a Lego store I wander for at least 30 min. Why just 30 min ? Because after the minute 31 I will not be able to hold myself.

I was actually thinking of lego last night, before seeing this thread. I am not a fan.

My kid has lego new in box that was too old for her.

The gift was just work to me, for a toy that my kid can't play with. I never saw the point of assembling it. I'll leave it to her when she can do it herself.

Even as a kid, I thought I'd rather have an assembled toy than one I have to put together!

In the words of Tom Hanks in Big, "I don't get it".

There’s quite a bit of design and engineering that goes into the instructions, if you enjoy making things it kinda taps into that

I personally enjoyed the making part, but once you make it, it takes ip an enormous space, that’s the problem for me on the opposite end of the spectrum 😀

Lego like watches as well, are not for all.

I enjoy assembling all the Technics models, since i love cars and engineering. The decoration result looks perfect in my eyes.

My son is heavily into Lego with several large pieces taking up conspicuous areas of his flat.

Was surprised that some are several hundreds of £ to buy!
