Am I the only one?

So I own 4 watches, A TagHeuer aquaracer Chronograph, a Seiko 62Mas, a Hamilton X-wind and a Timex Marlin 40mm Automatic. When I look at my Tag i see quality from the watch itself (43mm case) to the quality of the bracelets, thick, heavy, and a wonderful clasp (imho). The seiko screams reliability but a weak bracelet and then the rest of the watches. I've seen higher end watches from Rolex to Blancpain ect... but they just don't feel as satisfying when I put them on compared to my Tag... in terms of size, presence, feel. That is until I went to an Omega retailer and put on a Planet Ocean. I was like (holy f***) literally. The bracelet, the clasp (especially that clap, such a hard on), the watch itself I was like MAN! I thought most of higher end watches you were paying just for the name but the Omega Planet Ocean proved me wrong... i always wanted a Seamaster 300 but side by side to the Planet Ocean it felt weaker (lol). Any of you guys felt the same way about the Planet Ocean and should I get one? I want the 215.30.46.51.01.002

It seems like you are equating heft with quality.

I have a PO, and it is hefty. It sits high, and feels 'solid'. After a while, it actually gets old, and makes me appreciate my thinner, lighter Speedmasters even more. And my '67 Speedmaster, which is on horrendously light Holzer bracelet, seems like less than half the weight of the PO, but I would take it over the any day of the week. (the 'blingyness' of the PO dial furniture gets a little old, too)

While it is true to a certain degree... you can get the heft feeling with those hideous invicta watches too, but im talking Omega with a Co-Axial Master Chronometer !!!

The PO’s are finished to a really high quality. The furniture and dials are very very good.

I have an older 2500C PO that is thinner than the later POs and thus not as bulky, and a great summer all rounder on a nato.

Im 35, when I was younger circa 16-17 I fell in love with the seamaster 300 blue wave dial from the movie Goldeneye. A few years later I saw this very Planet Ocean with the orange bezel and I fell in love too and i craved it. I imagined to be the planet ocean to have... it inspired me so much that now that I'm able to afford real watches I want a diver watch with orange hues, but I want to settle with a Doxa for that specific color. I still want a seamaster though 😜 and the current planet ocean does it for me over the 300.

My PO 8500s definitely felt the most impressive of all the watches I have owned. I only sold it because I had the 45.5mm version and it was too big. However I am really enjoying the older planet ocean now, even if if doesn’t necessarily feel as impressive as the newer planet oceans.

should I get one?
Buy me one, let me get used to it, and I'll let you know if you should buy another one for yourself.
