Leather Nato/Zulu For My Seamaster?

Hi Folks,

I love straps. I have a pretty big collection of custom leather straps and do admit I have a fetish for them...lol. My strap collection is mainly 24mm with a couple 26mm and 22 mm ones.

With my recent grail acquisition of my Omega Seamaster Vancouver Olympic watch I wanted to get a leather strap for it so I can save the bracelet for 'special occasions' only. I'm not even sure what the bracelet size of my Seamaster is (lug width). I assume it's 20mm? Doesn't say in the manual (or I missed seeing it if it is)

I got a suggestion that red leather nato/zulu would look nice. I really like the though of a nice red leather but it has to be the right shade of red (to play off the bezel), otherwise I think it would make it look very cheap. What would you fine folks suggest? Also is nato better or zulu better? I'm open to any suggestions and colours, styles of straps etc.

Here are some red leather nato/zulu straps I found browsing online.

Why not a red rubber strap with white stitching? Those canvas NATO things make a watch look cheap IMO.

Great Idea I'll look into that. I tell you, if Isofrane offered red, this topic would be closed...LOL

How about this beauty from Gunny Straps? I have a few Gunny's and he is an artist! Never knew he did red 馃榾

I think I may have found the one, I'd just pick a different stitch colour and maybe add a bit more vintage distress to it.

Vintage Red
Price: $136.99 include buckle.
Thickness: approx. 3.8-4mm.
Style: Fancy color but vintage (moderately)

I actually really like the NATO and Zulu straps as an alternative look - particularly on my divers. I have lots and mix and match as I fancy. The Zulu is a different beast to a classic NATO - much bulkier and tougher. I guess it depends what you like. Buy one if each style that grabs you and use them when you feel like it. They're cheap enough.

Thanks for the great feedback and suggestions. I'm gonna try out a couple leather NATO straps seeing that many Omega owners rock them which is a good sign. I've also approached Josip at Diaboliq Straps and asked him to create a strap for me as he knows very well the meaning behind this watch for me.
