New strap for my Seamaster 300 MC

Just wanted to show off the new strap I installed on my Seamaster 300 MC last week, from the Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster. I've always liked the look the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms on the black sailcloth strap, so I went on a search for 21 mm straps that would fit my Seamaster 300.

Found several that were stamped leather, some that were pretty cheap looking, then I realized the DSOTM strap is 21 mm AND uses an Omega clasp. Not exactly sailcloth, but the cordura looks close and is not as shiny as the true sailcloth straps I did find. So I decided to give one a gamble, found someone on eBay selling theirs for a reasonable price (to me), and bought it.

I think it looks great. The ends are tight against the case, which some might not like, but I do. They look fitted at most angles. And my 18 mm clasp fit perfectly. It was a little stiff to begin with but has broken in nicely. I have the Barenia leather strap for this as well, but I think I like the DSOTM strap better.

Omega should offer this (or something similar) as an option.

I think it looks great, but am a bit biased when it comes to that particular style 😉 Here’s mine, dressed in similar fashion. The clasp and strap are Omega OEM items.

Very nice. That one was on my radar as well — but I can’t decide between the yellow and orange stitching. The yellow looks really good.
