Just how big is Railmaster 2806.52.37

I was always under the impression that 3rd number in the series shows size of the case. In this case I was expecting a 37mm watch. Looking on Omega site, it is listed as XXL and whopping 49.2mm. I have to say I was quite surprised to see that big of a case offering. I thought 45 was as big as they got for Omega, but clearly i was wrong.

My question is, just how big is this watch on the wrist? Looking just purely at the numbers, it sounds massive, but I could be wrong. I tried googling, but found only 1 or 2 pics on it on the wrist (and those look photochopped on)

Thanks

Went to AD close by, they never heard of Railmaster line :S

Will go to OB after work to see if they perhaps have it, but they are apparently a bunch of judgemental jackasses, so I am not holding my breath

I just googled "omega railmaster xxl" there are a ton of pictures with wrist shots. It is ridiculously big! I saw it in an AD once but never tried it on because it looked insane. I see them pop up frequently for sale on watchrecon.com

It is pretty massive. You will have to enjoy wearing a panerai or breitling large face watch to enjoy this one.

I went to the OB on the way home. They didnt have it, but they had aqua terra xxl, which size wise is same. That is one massive watch. It would take specific sort of person to be able to pull that off, and I sure am not one of those. It is supposed to be nice dress watch, good luck to most wearing it as such, and not looking silly.

The Railmaster XXL is a discontinued model, which is why a store will not have it and the staff have never heard of it.

The Aqua Terra XXL is the current incarnation for those folk who need a desk clock on their wrists....

I've worn one for a few days. Like an umbrella on a 6.75" wrist. a manual-wind Railmaster is still appealing though

Yeah,my wrist is about same, so no way I would even think about attempting to pull it off.

If Omega had made the same exact watch in the 39 or 41 mm size it would probably be my favorite watch. I love the manual wind movement with clear caseback and the sub seconds dial. It's just way to big at 49mm.

I've had a few Railmaster XXL's over the years and really love them. I think a lot of it comes down to what sort of strap you wear the watch on.

I used to wear my stainless one on an army green NATO and it fit like a glove (then again I have somewhat larger wrists at about 7.5"). I could see it being a challenge on a 6.75" watch. You do need to be a bit bigger for them.

I also have one in red gold. That one typically stays on either a black or brown alligator strap. I get people saying all the time "holy cow, that's a huge watch". And then after trying it on "wow, this is a really nice watch!".

The tough part is that it's the kind of watch you would be hard pressed to be able to try on before buying. To find one locally is a needle in a haystack. As such it's kind of a roll of the dice.

They are fantastic and surprisingly versatile watches however (i.e.the NATO, etc). I've had a hard time wanting to let mine go. I sold my stainless ones not too long ago to help fund another piece - and even had the red gold one listed. I couldn't come to let it go however despite many great purchase offers and some excellent trades.

Railmaster XXL's are VERY niche. If you love them, you really love them!
