it's the "medium thin"...the picture adds a few pounds, er, mm...TBH it feels smaller in person, I think an extra few mm in each direction will be welcome with the small seconds (which is another 1mm wide and ~2mm tall).
JLC has fiddled with Reverso case sizes for the last 30 years. The first major upgrade from the old standard two sizes (men and women) was back in 1991 (for the 60th anniversary) when JLC introduced their Grand Taille size case which was approx. 42 x 26.5 x 10 mm (HWT). At the time this was a big case for this style of watch, but I thought it was a perfect size and bought one of the first rose gold models in 1992 that was a special run for the Italian market, and subsequently had an enamel Art Deco initial inlay done by JLC in 1999. The one in your pics looks 'ok' but you might try on the current size with the small seconds hand to see if it fits your wrist better.

Anyway, this is how the Grand Taille size looks on my 7.5" wrist (42 x 26.5 (ex crown) x 10 mm).

Very much appreciated--thank you. Just spoke with the AD and they have a decent inventory so I'll be making my way there to try some on, which as everyone suggests is fairly essential for these watches. I love the yellow/rose gold btw!

The Reverso is one watch you have to try on to see if it suits you, and also for size. Report back once you've tried on some other sizes.

Valiant effort by the wife though!
She certainly gets an 'A+' for effort. It's quite brave walking in and buying an expensive watch for someone else, many mistakes can be made.

My reverso just arrived today 😀

Hope you have been enjoying it so far! Do you plan on purchasing a strap for it? If so, which one(s) were you thinking about?

Yes, Reverso hasnt left my wrist this week, day and night 😗 i am still in a honeymoon phase.

Sadly i couldnt find a perfect fit with the original bracelet, it was either a bit tight or very loose.😒

So i was checking all the straps i have. I have many new 18mm straps for my wife, but those didnt look good with a gap at the springbars.
My 20mm straps also looked too thick for this watch..
The only good fit i could find was an 19mm black Osiris from Hirsch. Looks a bit boring, but at least it fits the watch.
So i am still looking for a good alternative 👍

Edit: btw the watch face looks a bit smaller on bracelet, and a bit bigger with a leather strap, and just has a better proportions on my wrist.. so i will probably end up wearing it only on leather.

Just joined the Reverso club last Friday. In love with it and hasn't left my wrist since arriving. I'm thinking of picking up a black alligator for dressier occasions.

Sorry if this is a rude question but what is a reasonable AD discount on these? Of course everyone’s experience will be different but would 25% be a reasonable expectation?

Not rude, you should always try and get the best deal. My local just went to boutique and away from the AD. The boutique won't go lower than 10%. Before, the AD could to about 20%-25%.

Thank you!!! This at least gives me a great estimate of what to strive for while understanding my experience and AD may be different. Thanks again!

19mm is the best fit - I use either Geckota which are cheap and cheerful and have quick release spring bars. NOSTime also do lovely straps in great colours and beautiful leather, but these do cost more, again available with quick release. In the photos below, the light suede and black are from Geckota and the grey, blue and tan from NOSTime.

Waw thank you! Exactly what i was looking for 👍
I had a funny experience trying to order a strap from JLC directly. Had an amuzing phonecall, wrote an email. But not reply yet. I just wanted to know if the Casa Fagliano straps would fit my watch.
But now that I see your alternative, maybe its better to order elsewhere and save some money.

Pleasure - if you haven't found it, here is the Geckota link for 19mm straps, the best ones are the Painswick and Textured Painswick straps, these are about $30-40, if you give them your email address they will send you a 10% discount codeL

https://www.geckota.com/watch-straps?strap_size=272

Here is the NOStime link - these are $120

Welcome to the Club!

And, yes, the black alligator dresses up this watch quite nicely. I just wore this strap for the first time since the pandemic began, as it was the first time I had worn a jacket and tie in over a year.

I gave in and coughed up full whack for a genuine JLC Ostrich 19mm for my Reverso Duo as seen on P2. I take delivery next week so will post and updated pic. I did look for a cheaper source but the ones on offer from ebay sellers in Italy look very suspicious, with markings quite unlike those on my tired dirty original.

How did you order it?
