Errr, don’t think so, we are strictly rectangular here, let’s not be having any of your feelthy squares and deviant geometry please...
The Reverso is the rectangular watch i am hunting to add in my collection, I find it more versatil than a Tank or a Monaco, when i discovered the Duoface i found my Reverso, it's very unique and a true evolution of the original one. I hope to find one and join the club soon
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duoface was my first high-end watch purchase, and it's still a favorite of mine. So elegant yet classic. Love wearing it! And the "two face" white/black is very useful for traveling even in the same timezone - flip it over for a different look the next day! I will warn you though that this is no sports watch. It will pop out of the "cradle" with any sudden motion (like, say, playing polo!) and flop around. And the movement is not very rugged either, with mine having to go back for service after just 6 months regular use. So take care of it!
Quick question, does anyone who owns a JLC also own or owned a Cartier Basculante? I’m thinking of adding one, I like the different way it flips...
I’m of the camp you can definitely wear the reverso casual but you should change the strap and use “quick release” ones to make it easy. Intend to get one myself.
Congratulations, welcome to a small but select club of devotees, and I hope you enjoy wearing it for many years to come!
Thank you! At the moment i am pretty impressed by the looks The watch looks as if it was sitting in the box since 1999 so i will give it some wrist time. I hope we get along!
When I strapped mine on at Marshal Pierce in Chicago, it made me instantly happy. That feeling has never changed. The deco styling, the guilloche ... killer. Enjoy.
I was admiring the photos of your Reverso for quite some time now, also was pretty smitten by the white gold version of @padders, but those cost even more... In the end decided to go for the same version @khanmu has. There are also some other owners on the forum with this one, like can be seen on this thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/finally-found-my-dream-jlc-reverso-duo.74000/ The guilloche on the black dial reminds me of the dial of Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
My wife's... She wears it often. It was recently serviced by Richemont USA (regular maintenance). Personnaly, I'm more into smaller watches. I would probably go for the original sized Reverso.
Without meaning to put any noses out of joint, in the Richemont stable, I've always seen Cartier's offerings as more suitable for ladies, and JLC more aimed at men. I am well aware that both sell watches aimed at either sex and both have small and large pieces but there it is! ps I mean this as no disrespect to Deafboy's wife, who is clearly a lady of impeccable taste, in watches at least!
That is an auto model is it not? Can we see the other side? It’s great that we are attracting such variety here.
Have been eyeing one for some time and my wife surprised me for a 40th bday present based on previous discussions...but I didn’t specify “thin” vs “small seconds”, just “medium”, so I think I may exchange for the small seconds...she hit a home run but had no idea there were so many size options...the thin feels a tad small and while the medium small seconds is marginally bigger, the large (which I’ve never tried on) seems like it would be too large....size preferences??
it's the "medium thin"...the picture adds a few pounds, er, mm...TBH it feels smaller in person, I think an extra few mm in each direction will be welcome with the small seconds (which is another 1mm wide and ~2mm tall).
