This is one of those items that I'll buy and tuck away. I'm pretty sure that if you have a sealed first gen IPod, you can exchange that for a hefty sum of cash today. However, i'm not sure if the same could be said of IPads.

I thought you were kidding about the 1st gen iPods. I then checked completed auctions on eBay and was shocked to see actual sales of $800 and up. I had one...
Would have covered a valjoux 72 service...

Yessir. It's crazy how much people spend on collectibles these days. I mean, if you find spending $800 for obsolete technology unfathomable, check out this site called the Omega Forums 😉

I am joking of course. We collect art, not technology.

I ordered two...38mm aluminum white Sport model for my wife who will use it to track her exercise...and the SS 42mm Black Classic for me to play with and use for app development. Since I can expense these, it was a no brainer for me...I just can't leave the house without a vintage watch on my wrist, so I guess I will have to look like a dork and wear both.

There will be tens of millions produced of the 1st gen Apple Watch...the first gen iPod was made before the iPhone's popularity in far smaller numbers and since most were heavily used and now no longer work (high failure rate) a working model is worth a good bit today...this won't happen with the Apple Watch.

What about the solid gold one? A year later when version two comes out and the watch is out of date the owner can sell the watch for the melted gold value I suppose.

What's going on with the lug that's sticking out? Do they slide out that easily? They're magnetic?

I'm a bit of a sucker for Apple stuff. This I just don't get though...

I have the iPhone 6. My biggest gripe about this latest model phone though, is its size.
The larger screen is very welcome when I'm actually using it, but that additional girth is annoying as hell when the phone is sat in my pocket.
So here we have a new device, which will attempt to stop me reaping the benefits of my lovely large screen, whilst ensuring that my phone's most tedious drawback remains fully effective for the entire day!

This isn't the solution to any problem I currently have...!

I actually just saw on TV a technology editor of a newspaper in Australia saying its an Apple cultists only gadget that nobody will buy and will become Apple's next Newton. Which was particular interesting as it sold out in 6 hours and is now backordered for some models to 2015Q3.
