So he hasn't looked at his phone but his watch connected to his phone has interrupted him. So now he will look at his phone.
My wife would spot a furtive glance to an iwatch and be incensed, dare I say even more than a phone.

It's an interesting product but I do not like the fact that the data collected is mined by apple. All the other functionality is cool and will probably be useful, considering I've never needed it before. Personally, I don't plan on getting it anytime soon. I prefer the Garmin Fenix, but the apple watch is in a different category. As an extension of the phone it's cool and convenient.

I didn't like how slow the 3rd party apps seemed to run and fetch data, that was really unimpressive.

I got a 42mm Sport model in Space Grey. Couldn't justify anything but the least expensive option for the same functionality given that it's a gadget with a necessarily short lifespan (plus I actually do intend to use it for fitness activities).

I'm afraid of what this thing will mean for my interest in mechanical watches and my collection if it becomes part of my everyday usage and I come to find its features indispensable. Or, it could be like the iPad, which I rarely picked up (and eventually sold) because I'm basically never without my phone and my Mac. Time will tell (ha!). I suspect I'll be able to offload it pretty easily if I don't love it.

The remarkable thing is I actually spent the day in Manhattan today going to many of the nice watch Boutiques for the first time, including FP Journe, AP, Tourneau Time Machine, Omega 5th Avenue Boutique, Wempe, and Seiko. Then I saw Nightwish (with Sabaton and Delain), and I got home just in time to take a shower and preorder the Apple watch. 😜

Anyone thinking about the 'classicly sized' 38mm ? I am so 50/50 on this thing, but I think smaller might be better for me (esp if I double wrist ... 😕 ) - not sure how much of a tool I will look like that, but on a daily basis, I just can't not wear a mechanical!

See in this price range for $1k or so a TAG Heuer Quartz doesn't do much for me at all, and it would just never get used as its not as good as all my other watches. The Apple watch is a different slot with different features for different purchase, it doesn't compete with the Daytona or Sub, therefore it doesn't have to lose out to them.

in a year they will be worth what a this years iPhone will be half the price also you have to look at apple products after so long they no longer support them with updates so if you want a bling watch for $1k this is for you ,i would still rather spend $1k on a good second hand quality watch that will last for years

My Calibre 321 Speedmaster hasn't been updated since 1962 😀 I'm still waiting for Omega to add new features!
