I've not seen these hour-markers before (another uncommon watch in my collection)

Even if you find an ad, please understand that different buckles were used in different countries.

Right. I did not know that till yesterday. 1) Now I know why I always had difficulty finding an ad with the buckle pictured - tedious when there are varying buckles for varying locales. 2) Why the need for varying buckles, though?

I stole the pictures from an eBay listing for a 1950 Omega catalog many years ago.

I remember reading through this before purchasing a buckle - https://omegaforums.net/threads/about-omega-buckles.37347/. It's still difficult (for me, at least) to know with certainty whether a buckle is from the 1947-1951 era or the 1952-157 era, for example. These are photos of my buckle.

Ouch. I appreciate knowing that, though. Thanks

How can one find out if an early Seamaster sold in the USA in about 1947-1951 had a plain buckle without logo or one with a logo?

Are some legit buckles not marked as ACIER INOX? (As an example, I've attached a photo.)

Yes. Especially on US cased models.

Get a Time Machine set back to 1950.

Very rare to see catalog pictures that included buckles. This is by design. The same watch may have been sold in different markets with different buckles and even different case reference numbers.

Most collectors will settle for a buckle that looks period correct.

If that buckle is steel, it is original.
