Another uncommon dial (Need advice from the forums)

Hi all members,

I would like to share another watch with an uncommon dial variation which I can’t found from Google, also in this forums.

This uncommon omega ref. 2494-2, 2657 SC, used cal. 354 with the larger size than usual (36.5 mm excluding the crown). The serial number was 13,232,xxx (approximately 1953).

The case was over polished with tired movement that needed services.

More close-up photo of the font.

In my humble opinion, the fonts look legit.
From my research I can’t find the same shape of these hour-markers but I can find only this one using the same dial pattern.

I compare both watches. Even the difference version of “OMEGA” word, please note that the alignment is the same between “A H C” and “I T R” (as marked by the green and yellow lines accordingly).
Maybe it was redial at the same place? or both of them were legit?

What’s your opinion? Have you ever seen the one like this?

Thanks very much for your advice/comments.

Incredible dial and look at the photo taking skills on @qazwsx1 that’s some beautiful work getting those tight macro shots, I only wish everyone could do that!

Yes, it could be for the hour-makers at 3,6,9 and 12 o’clock.
Is it a turning hour glass by the way?

The 3 magic words : I don't know. This Dial on it's own looks great. They are hard to print; they vary. What bugs me is the rest. Even the hour hand is scratched. The case had water/sweat damage. See the metal pitting in the back. The movement shows its age and was not treated kindly. Therefore that dial does not fit in to the rest of the watch. To me, they did not leave the Factory together as is now. If this dial is refinished, I've seen only work from a guy in Vietnam, who can pull that off. But his details are guarded very closely by the ones in the know..... Great Dial. Not so great Watch.

I see a few on IG etc, from UK Poland and Italy, doing good work. I would think with digitalizing the design and a pad printer you can get really close.

The one from the above pic is from the UK on IG
billandsonslt
who does excellent work as it looks like new so if that fits the condition of your case it is a good choice.

And from Poland you have Wega and EVW with complete makeover dials , but they are now mostly on C24 now is see, with their listings. From Austria you have dealer RMT vintage with more "sympathic" restorations.
