Ahem, I hate to be a party popper and my intent is not to offend, as a matter of fact at one time I really wanted one of the white dialed pandas or the blue dial Japan ones, but my watchmaker talked me out of it because he finds the movements bad quality.

And he doesn't mince his words about them, no point quoting specifically as again the point is not to be inflammatory but since someone is asking for independent advice I had to mention there are adverse opinions.

Best regards
Maybe change your watchmaker as I had no problems getting mine serviced and was told they are not bad quality movements just a bit more difficult to work on

Ha ha, nice try! I don"t think so. He works with a number of vintage watch collectors, can fix stuff other watchmakers won't touch, and he's one of a kind. He may have very personal opinions and he may be wrong, who knows, but his opinions are certainly interesting.
In all fairness he also berates Seiko and I have willfully ignored him on that front.

A lot of watchmakers won't touch the D & D chronograph module (myself included), but the Eta automatic movement on the reduced is a nice movement to work on. Difference between the watchmaker who calls the movement "poor quality", and a watchmaker who is being honest with you, is that the guy slams the quality of the reduced movement just doesn't want to work on them! I have a Speedmaster reduced that I had the movement replaced on by Omega, And it is one of my favourites, and an exceptional performer.

He probably stated he doesn't like to work on them but I also recall him opining that the set up with two modules on top of each other made it more fragile and breakable. Any thoughts on that?
He and his colleague clearly repair them as they were working on one which prompted the discussion.

Swiss made service centre London had no problems working on my water damaged Speedy reduced and made it like new for, IMO, not a lot of money

But you posted this in another thread...

"Well an update my watchmaker has had the watch now for over a month and now tells me he can't do anything with it because it's an Omega I'm so pis@@d off with him"

So it looks like your experience was not completely hassle free...

That was a watch repair guy in my village he keeped it over a month saying he will get round to it soon and then he tells me he does not have a parts account with Omega so he can't get the parts to repair it !
But then I sent it to Swiss Made Service Centre in London and they had no problems in making it good again very quickly and IMO a very good price

I don't have one yet but really got my attention here. I was able to locate a two tone white dial with gold sundials and gold bezel but wonder if $1900 is a good price to pay considering it comes on the two tone original bracelet.
