    This watch really does it for me. I love the texted background, the date on the bottom, the beautiful bezel that is polished so nice, and the ability to see the works of the watch from the back. I can buy one in black and one in blue and it would still be cheaper than thr Rolex Submariner date watch even though the quality of both are the same. In addition the new Seamaster has a little more modern look to it. Saving my money for one right now.

    Just a personal view... I don't think the font on the bezel goes well with the watch.

    I think the same; better: I think that the white of the numbers is... too much white; that's why I'm going to take the Sedna® gold version, with numbers on the bezel in Ceragold®

    I’m more of a Rolex guy these days but recently bought the black version for my son’s 21st birthday. Holy cow! The fit and finish of the new model is amazing - far far superior to my 15 year old version. It really has come on incredibly, the bracelet and visible movement are fantastic. My only slight gripe is the numbers on the bezel are too big in my opinion, if they were smaller/more subtle it really would be the perfect diver.

    Exactly! totally agree, too much presence (grey would it be better), too big, unnecessary

    You forgot the most important advantage to the Seamaster, availability! YOU HEAR ME ROLEX WE CANT BUY YOUR WATCHES IF YOU DON'T SELL THEM! I'm starting to think the Rolex AD is a wholesaler and not retail.

    It’s very nice, but I confess that I liked the previous version better, particularly with the black dial, which I purchased last year. What’s really interesting is that the grey market dealer where I purchased the watch is now charging $910.00 MORE for the watch than I paid in December. Not sure why that would be, but my guess is that the “old” model is still in demand and available stock is beginning to run low. Maybe a future classic? I hope so. In any event, congrats on your purchase. You really can’t go wrong with a Seamaster.

    The size of the numbers are pretty similar on the Tag Heuer.
    I agree the numbers are a little large but considering with only circles in the inside area, the larger numbers compensate as they further away from the hands. but the point is well taken.

    The design looks like it's very much based on an old Citizen model. I know loads of watches have elements from others but the overall look, colour, bezel shape etc.

    I went to a Omega store today and tried on the Seamaster in Blue and Black for the first time. My initial observations were the following;

    Oh my goodness these watches are so beautiful! They look very elegant and I love the date on the bottom. I have no problem reading the date from a distance either.

    In addition I did not find the watch too bulky, heavy or too large for my wrist. Since I already have a black diving watch, I want the blue Seamaster. It is actually my favorite color for this watch. I love the red tip third hand as well.

    I agree it's a great update to a classic. The only things I'm not too fond of are the He valve and the new shape of the hands.

    ditto. Recently, I actually lost interest in Rolex watches. I didn't even care much about what they released this year. Still respect the brand and their watches, but no interest in getting one.

    Whats the point of read about it if I can't buy one even if it want to (without playing their game of "if you want a popular SS sports watch, if you have to buy another 5 Rolex first and then we may give you a call when we got one and the other 5 guys doesn't want it).
