I have a bunch of el-cheapo package deals including that watch which I plan to list for my pals over on the military watch forum later this week and I will send you a PM when I do, and encourage you to join up there as well. I'll give you first shot at it 😀
I’d be really interested as well, if that is OK!

The DeVille is fake, too. It uses the exact same badly-done movement. It’s ironic that the maker is proud enough of that to put a see-through case-back on it.

Hello,

I saw this watch on eBay, wonder if someone can give me their opinion if this is a genuine Omega or copy? Unfortunately no picture of that movement.

Might be a reference to the font used... oh that is too funny.
I thought of that too loll. But I thought the character might have been used.

Hi everyone - total newbie here.

Is this an authentic (modern) Ladymatic and 8520?

I also have a video of the movement but I can't seem to be able to post it.

Let me know if more photos are needed.

Thank you!!

I know nothing of the ladymatic but the jewels in the movement look empty.

I tried to find an equally bad photo of a genuine 8520 to use as a reference. You can see the pivots in the jewels are visible.

But in your images, they look empty.

Also, the balance in yours looks different.

The video is equally terrible. If you can’t get quality photos of the movement that aren’t carefully angled and carefully out of focus, it’s a decent bet it’s fake. A legitimate seller could send you a decent photo of the movement.

By the way, an Omega Ladymatic that looks suspiciously like that one (by that I mean, is that one) is for sale on various sites selling garbage fakes for $200 - $300 US. It’s fake, run.

Yeah there are definitely lots of fake Ladymatics floating around. Usually they're very obvious fakes or decent ones but usually you can tell by the movement. The fake ladymatics I've seen have movements that look like this:

This seller is on Chrono24 with great reviews but I have no experience with buying through there.

Thank you for your help. I'll try to get better photos.

If it’s on Chrono24 you have a much better chance of it being real than if this was eBay.

I was hoping to get some expert eyes to take a look at this. I've been after one of these for quite a while, but the prices seem to be getting unrealistically high in a very short period, from about €2000 back in spring rising to €2700/2800 asking now. Other than the damage to the bezel insert, which I can get replaced in the fullness of time, I was wondering what you think of this one as a potential purchase.

It's a full set with the box in pretty decent condition. I've no intention of paying the current asking price so they'll need to come down a bit, particularly considering the bezel damage. My last few offers at what I think is a reasonable point on different watches have been refused, but I still don't think these watches are worth €2700/2800 in the current market, but perhaps I'm wrong!

Anyway, just wanted to double check everything looks as it should. I don't see any problems, but I've missed them before!

Thanks!

All I will say is that thing has been over polished.

The case sides are supposed to be brushed and these look polished. The crown guards and lyre lugs should have sharper edges and these look really rounded. I owned own a while ago and here are two pics of it.

to show the brushed side and sharper edges

Thanks! Seeing your photos does show a pretty pronounced difference. I think I'll let that one pass. So hard to find one of these at a reasonable asking price at the moment!

Yeah they have definitely grown in popularity. I’m a fan of the full size but if you have smaller wrists or are not opposed to the midsize option (36mm), those were far less popular. As a result, they are more commonly in better shape and a lot cheaper.
