Apologies if I have posted in the incorrect place, newbie alert!

I would really appreciate your opinions on whether this watch is genuine. My partner purchased it on ebay as I said I would buy him one for an anniversary present (wanted one for ages)! We're no experts but here goes, while the movement inside appears genuine, the weight is good, and other tell tale signs I've searched on Internet seem ok, my alarm bells started ringing on a few bits..... 1. The blue bezel surround came off - can it come loose on a genuine one or are these pretty well fitted by Omega?
2. The red part of the second hand looks too short when I compare it to other pictures of the watch.
3. I Can't see any serial number on the lug - is this where it should be?
4. There are 6 holes on the back for removing the back ase, all other pictures I've seen of this model only have 5
I guess the main watch could be genuine but have fake bezel, second hand, back etc but I'm not sure how/why it would end up with all these random fake parts on a genuine watch. The seller sells lots of watches, has over 1000 feedback and no negatives saying fake etc. It was advertised as recently serviced and polished but with no box, papers etc. so obviously it was slightly cheaper than others but still expensive! We can raise a case with ebay in next 3 days to return it for refund so would really appreciate your thoughts. My partner believes it's real and wants to keep it, I'm the one questioning it as we can't agree!
Thank you, Clare

We need photos.

If you can return it, I would. I don’t know these that well, but at the very least the bezel looks wrong

Thank you. I've opened an ebay case now, the seller immediately replied that it is 100% genuine but has accepted the return so will send it back and be more careful when looking for another one!

Thanks everyone

Not my specialty but in addition to the things already noted, this watch should have an anti-magnetic cover which fits over the movement. The fact that is is not present on your watch is a big red flag.

Far left in this photo.

Thank you for your thoughts, much appreciated. It does have a cover, (cut out of photo when cropping, added in attached photo) but it doesn't have any engraving like the one shown in your picture...

Overall I'm not happy with various things, it just seems put together with non omega parts on what is possibly a genuine movement, who knows. Retuning for a refund, unfortunately the seller will probably relist for someone else....

Good morning,
Recently purchased this 3572.50, it’s my first Omega. I thought it looked legit, checked for the Omega logo on the glass etc, which is present, but being so new to this, there is always an element of doubt. Hopefully those with more experience and knowledge of these things could put my mind at ease. What did catch my eye was the text around the exhibition caseback, seems closer to the edge than other examples. Hoping I’ve not gone and purchased a dud!

I just purchased a new omega seamaster professional. The serial number on the back starts with an “A00....” so it is 7 digits but starts with a letter instead of a number. I spoke to the dealer and he said that Omega ran out of serial numbers and had to switch to lettering - like Rolex did some years ago. I am nervous I have a fake and wanted to see if anyone here could corroborate or knows anything about this change. I called omega and brought it into the boutique - they can’t find this in their database for service and they did not know about this change in serial numbers. Please help!

A00.... is stamped on lug, stamped on movement as well as international warranty card. Concern is that no one seems to recognize this sequence as Omega serial numbers are all numbers not beginning with letters. Box, cards, packaging are all included.

Am I foolish for considering buying a 2901.50.47 that is described as "new old stock" but isn't on a leather strap?

?

Have you tried login into Omega's website to see if the METAS results are posted?

Please help me report this loser on eBay!

Scammer eBay profile:

https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...sspagename=VIP:feedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller

So I'm always out to look for a good watch deal on eBay. I've found a couple over the years. Recently, my search ended up to the eBay user "jennyrh2013"

This person is selling "high-quality" fakes (an oxymoron) on eBay for thousands. I've noticed a pattern-- all the watches have serial numbers with 8 or 6 in them. Also, they all come with the the newer-style International Warranty Card only with "Tourneau" and poor printing on the serial number. The wooden box it comes with seems genuine.

The dead giveaway was this sold Planet Ocean:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Omega-Seamaster-Planet-Ocean-600M-44mm-Divers-Watch-215-32-44-21-01-001-/173928778122

It had the serial number of "88998668". Just Google that and you will see a whole bunch of different fake Omega models with that serial.

So it looks like the fakers have started painting the balance wheel black. It used to be a good determinate of whether the watch was fake or not.... be careful out there, folks!
