It's easier to explain the details that are correct: nothing. This is not one of those "super clones"

Quite genuine, however the pie-pan dial has been severely polished during a poorly executed refinish.

My nana gave this watch to me several years ago before she passed. Said she had it for many years. at least since the 40s im guessing.
I recently took it to a jeweler to fix it so that i could wear it for my wedding.
Jeweler said it was a fake.
It baffles me that fakes were made so long ago...can you confirm that it is a fake?

    Thanks!

Hello, I'm very new to the world of vintage watches and perhaps too hastily made an ebay bid on this 1969 Constellation model 168.029.

After further inspection, I noticed that the "constellation" logo appears below the star and seems too close to the hour markers. I can't find any examples of similar models with the logo appearing below the star. Could this dial be fake?

    Hi folks,

This is my first post after many good, and not so good, 'adventures' with vintage watches. I'd be really interested in thoughts on this.

I hesitate to consider watches without pics of the movement, but my main question was whether it's been re dialled? The text looks a bit 'thick'? And there's no Swiss at 6 o'clock? As I say, I really am a beginner here so please be gentle. Any help hugely appreciated.

Yes it does say swiss made on the dial below 6 o'clock (zoom in). But I'm more worried about it being way over-polished, where the caseback detail is lost completely, and the 5 o'clock and 11 o'clock lugs are missing a lot of metal. Personally I would stay away, even if genuine, unless it cost 1/3 to 1/2 as much.

Not fake, just an improperly refinished dial.

    Hi All,

Got this watch as a gift from an online retailer. Does it look real?
Ive no reason to think it is fake, but always nervous when it came from an online store. The store is rated well.

    Thanks

How often do you get Swiss Made watches online as a "gift"? It's certainly NOT a normal experience for the rest of us who would assume that it's a fake, and we'd still wonder what you did to earn such a gift.

Sorry for the confusion...I meant I bought this as a gift for someone else from an online retailer. I paid $$ for it, but supposedly it retails for $$$. I'd like to know if it's legit before I gift it.

Thanks and sorry for my poor wording.

I have not seen that model before, but it's similar to the De Ville Prestige co-axial, but yours appears to be a quartz watch with no second hand - I have seen the type of box that it came in as genuine, but boxes can be faked.

The stones in yours look bigger than what I'd expect from Omega, but maybe placed by an independent jeweler.

EDIT - NEVERMIND I found a more similar watch on Jomashop.com

    https://www.jomashop.com/omega-prestige-watch-424-13-27-60-56-001.html

Without other provenance like a picture of the insides, or a warranty card with a matching serial number to match that on the watch, it's hard to say if real.

Here we go again... real or fake. Have to opportunity to buy it for 1000 US$. It's definitely been worn a lot, but looks pretty good except for one glaring flaw. The lumes at 12 and 3 are missing. If it is genuine, how much would it cost to repair approx?
