Hey guys, was offered this on local trade. No box, no papers, serial number matches on lug and movement and also called local Omega AD and serial number checks with their database. Movement looks good to me. Am I missing anything here? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I actually called movado and verified something through them. On another forum people won’t post serial numbers as they can be grabbed by the rep makers but with the checking you did I think you did some great follow up. Wait until someone who has a better eye and has seen more than me I’m sure someone can give it a look. It looks ok to me but I’d love to know if I’m wrong. Is the source solid

Hey Guys, I am new here :)
I would like to buy my first vintage Omega, a Constellation.
I have found a nice one on German Ebay (I am from Germany) but I am not too sure if it is a Real Constellation or a Fake.
Could anyone tell if it’s real please?
Here are the photos from the listing:

Welcome to the forum. Note that double-posting in the forum will not assist you with your request for help. The best way forward is to read the posting guidelines, newcomer guidelines, learn how to fish

Photos, not links, for example, will be needed to motivate anyone to respond. Good luck, vintage watches are a fun ride!

Hi all. New member here with a first post, so please be gentle! I was recently watching this Speedmaster Mk2 on eBay, but there was something about it that didn't seem quite right. I'd value opinions as to whether I was correct to swerve it or whether I missed out on a bargain! First off, here is the link (auction now ended btw).

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Omega-Speedmaster-Professional-Mark-II-1970-Cal-861-Racing-Dial-Watch-/223506706721?nma=true&si=wmiMCSvCtCC%2BtVpadUTimx%2F1qXk%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I had a couple of queries and asked the seller, but didn't really get anywhere. So, it is described as a 1970 Mk2 with racing dial. The dial looks extremely fresh without a hint of wear for what is a near 50-year-old watch. That could be explained by being carefully stored etc.

Then there is the 'Swiss made' marking at the 6 o'clock position. Surely this would be a T Swiss made T marking on a 1970 watch? My 1990 Moonwatch has T Swiss made T, but why doesn't this 1970 mk2?

And finally, the movement. It is the correct cal. 861 but it has a serial number in the 4833xxxx range, dating it to 1996 (info on the serial number was found here http://lunaroyster.com/resources/omega-speedmaster-date-of-manufacture-by-serial-numbers/). I asked the seller about these items but was basically fobbed off with a reply that the watch has never had any work done to it? I'd appreciate any comments, because I'm still confused as to what it is!

    Thanks, James

    Hello all,
First, thank you for helping others out on this forum.
Has anyone ever seen a fake vintage movement? I picked up what I think would be called a frankenstein with a old movement (861). The movement is very clean seems in great shape based on my Watch Tuner Timegrapher app set up, and just wanted to see what people think. When I look up photos of this movement they all look just like mine but it would be great to have another opinion.

It's genuine, however for correctness these are out of my focus.

I suggest you start a separate thread in the vintage Omega section if you want specific information.

    Hello everyone,

Newbie here. Here’s a watch I would like to be confirm of it’s authenticity.

The back cases serial is blurry however.

Genuine yes, desirable no. Dial has been refinished and the case completely "restored", not good things.

    Korea?

I haven't spent a lot of time looking at modern watches but am starting to poke around Seamaster Pros. I've looked through sales history on the forums and was hoping for some quick feedback on the 2541.80 below. I don't see anything glaring that would indicate that it's fake or that it's condition is an issue, but the lack of a straight on photo made it a little harder to compare against. I'm not sure if a quartz watch is where I want to spend my money right now.

Subdials are almost always a dead giveaway on low-end fakes.
I've noticed scammers tend to always have a "story." Something involving military, relative is is sick need it shipped somewhere else, gift for relative ship it somewhere else, or in this case scammer apparently wants to give away a watch left for them in their father's will. Takes a special kind of person to give that up and if they were being forced to give something like that up, it would have been dire enough for them to run to the nearest pawn shop/jeweler, not ebay.
