my eyes can’t verify its legitimacy. […] If legit, what would be a proper value in CAD?
The watch in the photos is genuine. If you want someone to comment on price, it’s best to share what this seller is asking first.

The ad states made in 2022 but when I tried to decode the serial number it said make in either 2000 or 2009 which made me raise some suspicion. But this reply does give me some piece of mind.

seller is asking $5600 but I believe I could get a little bit of a better price.

Serial decoders are useless on dating modern watches, and will always fail. They really only serve a purpose for vintage pieces.

fair enough- thanks. I think I will go for it, always have the escrow service to fall back on. Is there any doubts at all for you when you look at the pictures? Or anything that makes you certain it’s a real genuine Omega?

Nope, the movement photo tells me all I need to know. Like I said before, the watch in the photos is genuine. I personally can’t help with price but others that frequent this thread may be able to. If you feel you can negotiate a little, you can always message the seller.

First post for me here. I’m a noob preparing for my first Omega watch purchase. I’ve read this entire thread trying to educate myself. Thank you OF. I’m looking at this 8900 aqua Terra. Looks legit but I can’t see the mechanism as well as I’d like. Thought I’d ask y’all. Real?
Thank you for looking!

Ran across this on an Invaluable auction listing. I don’t pay that much attention to most of the America’s Cup editions, but this one — to continue with the nautical idiom — smelled fishy:

You have to be very careful on Invaluable.
You’ve got that right. What’s more, seems like some of the auction houses don’t necessarily care if the item is fake. There was one a couple months back where I know they were alerted repeatedly about a fake Speedmaster. As far as I could tell, they sold it anyway.

one thing i found odd was that on the bridge where the serial number is, under the serial it says "(5) positions" which isn't on other pics i've seen.

Wrong reference number for that serial:

Serial number: 89236388
Article ref: 22010412106001

Also, none of these jewels have pivots in them:

They have just added a plate on top of a cheap movement to make this look real...

Hello everyone, I'm asking for some HELP. I bought a watch about 2 months ago on Chrono. It came with the box but no papers. I do have an ebay authenticity card, the master chronometer certificate, pictograms, a little satchel, and the manual. I honestly didn’t think Omegas were faked! thought that was more of a Rolex thing. I didn’t look too deeply into the buyer. I paid around $4,000 plus tax, and now I am losing my sanity.

From the videos I've watched, I still can’t tell if it’s legit. I did my own video and counted seven ticks per second. I also tried every fridge magnet I have on the back, and it still ticks normally. I checked the serial number on Omega’s website, along with the access code for the METAS certification, and it all shows up. For some reason I had to click twice but it works.

PLEASE, can someone do a LEGIT CHECK? Not sure if I can post videos, but I’ll try. THANK YOU in advance for any help!

Lighting inside my room is terrible, I may need to take more pictures during the day.
