Now that will be a nice collection, just needs a Sub to round it off 馃槜

I'm still debating on ordering a 50th Anniversary bracelet for the Snoopy when it arrives... I'm now thinking similar for a future standard 3861 Moonwatch as all models appear to have the same style case 馃う

...and if correct, does that mean that the bracelets across the 3861 models are interchangeable?

Haha, I have no idea if the bracelets are interchangeable, I will go for the Sapphire variant, bracelet and order the leather strap and deployant to give me variation.

Happy that I have money to get this and pleased that I passed on the Snoopy, its a great watch just not for me.

Having set my mind on next years watch purchase that fella Sod and his law will no doubt kick in and I'll get the chance to get a 321 at the same time as my 3861 is due to be collected. 馃榾

As being an owner of the current Professional with 1861cal and Hesalite and of a FOIS, i would easily lock my next target which would be the Professional 3861 with Sapphire and applied metal logo...

I'm just glad to know that my old caseback is now officially considered sexist and offensive. 馃槦::facepalm1::

Don't over react. No one has called the old case back offensive. Women have been wearing the watch in space for decades. The change is over due, but I'm not implying any controversy. Just wanted to acknowledge the improvement.

After some previous comments and re-reading the PDF, I'm wondering if I will eventually go the sapphire or hesalite route simply due to applied metal logo?

The great thing is these will be the new standard... no need to rush 馃憤

No worries. I made my remark with humorous intent.

I'm looking forward to seeing this iteration, the step case, applied logo and thinner proportion are really very appealing.

The new DON does have a "tell". Compare the dots over the 225, a little further to the right on the first 2 on the new one. And the dot under the 250 is slightly further away on the new one. Probably done on purpose, it will be tricky to find a new name for them.
Also the shapes of the 5s and the 9s are slightly different.

Clearly this change has upset some people, and not just on this forum (I've seen comments about this in other places). Maybe when they release an official document they will put a trigger warning on it for those who are overly sensitive to this. 馃槈

When I cancelled my Snoopy order back in October I was having a chat with the guys in the store and their view was that the end of 2020 and the first part of 2021 would be Snoopy focused, the best guess from the team in the store was that the new Speedmaster would be in shops late spring / early summer 2021 and getting more and more available as the year progresses.

It鈥檚 not oversensitivity. The struggle is real for this guy now 馃榿 Certified for everyone but him 馃檨

If you say so...馃槈

So the new Hesalite version is flight qualified. That was freaking a lot of people out. Another crisis averted. Unfortunately they went full politically correct and went with "Flight Qualified by NASA for all Human Space Missions" instead of "Manned". They are full woke.

Unfortunately, there is nothing for me with either model because I don't like tapered bracelets. An applied logo on the hesalite could have tempted me, but overall there isn't enough to replace my 3570.

Having said that i think they have really revised both models with the necessary caution and added a lot of nice little things for enthusiasts. The new standard Speedy will remain a classic and will continue to appeal to generations of WIS. Well done, Omega!

Buy it on strap and maybe the 50th bracelet will fit!

No need, the Forstner stretch-link is a better bracelet anyway...

The pdf is here. Link is working properly now.

I had seen it by the time I posted that second message 馃榾

Is the sapphire on the 50th the same as the sapphire on the current sapphire sandwich? In other words, is the so-called "milky ring" still present?

I'd assume they would use the same sapphire, there's nothing particularly special about the one on the 50 that would suggest it's unique. As for "millky ring" I've not noticed anything out of sorts on the 50 - and I have owned many Hesalite and sapphire Speedmasters before so if there were a problem, I'm sure I'd have noticed it!

The Forstner is really nice, more affordable, possibly better value relative to price, but certainly not better. What鈥檚 to prefer to the 50th? I have both and can feel the difference in quality starting with the pins to take out the links, continuing with the metal quality and finishing with the clasp system.
