Not as much price increase as many had predicted. I鈥檓 assuming the more expensive one has the see through caseback.

I wouldn't mind getting one of the nylon straps for mine. That said, as nice as the new one is going to be, I'm glad I got the 1861. It seems a bit more traditional somehow.

Hmm interesting. So the "older" style Hesalite retains the printed logo and is priced about the same as today at 5800, it seems? Wonder if it soldiers on with the 1861 as well. IMO that'd be the way to go with product planning, keep the Speedmaster accessible while expanding the range in an organic way.

Definitely agree that it's nice to have choices!

(Please note: I cannot read reference numbers so if the .001 and .002 just pinpoint the difference between an applied or printed logo, feel free to disregard 馃檮)

To be clear, I have no insider knowledge whatsoever - I am only reacting to what others have posted.

I am merely a future buyer of the updated speedmaster. Can't wait!
