Canadian pricing will be:
- 8550 CAD hesalite
- 9700 CAD saphire
per AD info.

Thanks — I’ve emailed my AD but haven’t heard back.

Still a hefty price rise. And I imagine discounts will be harder to come by, at least initially.

So to-date we have;
* Hesalite / Strap
* Hesalite / Bracelet
* Sapphire / Strap
* Sapphire / Bracelet
* Sedna Gold / Bracelet [Boutique only]
* Canopus (White) Gold / Bracelet [Boutique only]

Any more for any more before tomorrow?

I believe there will a Sedna Gold on a strap as well, also Boutique only.
Cheers,

I suspect the Gold pieces will be at a similar price point to the A11 Moonshine Gold, guess this will make the steel pieces look affordable.

Anyone know US pricing?

Hesalite - $6705
Sapphire - $7607

I believe this is correct according to the prices provided above?

Likely be lower than direct CAD to USD conversion... Few more hours to go, we will all know all the details!!!

So, it’s basically 50% more expensive than a perfect speedy from the early 90s. Something is wrong. The first one is too expensive, or the other one is too cheap.
The new RRP of the speedy at the end of the 1990s was around £1400 Tomorrow it will be nearly £6k. That’s a ~300% increase not 50%. But I assume you meant buying used vs new? I think some above assumed you meant like for like.

Which ever way you slice it, Omega have been ramping up the price of their halo piece way faster than inflation for the past 10 years.

So 30 years of inflation with only 50% increase actually isn't too bad if I'm understanding you correctly.

That’s not what I meant. You’re paying 50% more for roughly the same thing without 30 years of history. Said differently, history has a negative value here, as if it were a simple utilitarian tool.

As an illustration of my point above. The £1,400 year 2000 price translates today, accounting for inflation to £2,375. The new watch is over double that. Anyone see greed there?

That price rise puts the speedy in the same price bracket as a submariner - both great watches, but with one (if you can get a sub) the price will increase, the other (speedy) it will decrease - I imagine it will sell well to enthusiasts (like us) but the pricing is getting too close to Rolex that I imagine many laypersons would wait to get the crown on their wrist if its a similar outlay.

Not necessarily greed.
Just trying to take advantage of a situation throughout the broader watch market in which they are very active participants.

They certainly display a deep appreciation of money though, if it's not actually greed.

Thank you Padders. I was comparing the price of the new speedy to the price of a 1990 speedy today, not back then. So whatever you think of the price of the new speedy, the price of the 90s one looks cheap. On a relative basis.

Dont get the applied vs painted logo. Why not have the hesalite applied logo option?

The applied logo (I really don't like its design) version seems to have a display caseback (I don't know if it was precised in the thread before)...

The bracelet clasp looks ca. 2mm bigger than the one on the monnshine gold (16mm instead of 14mm?).
