So in general I like it 馃憤 since I just got a new hesalite Moonwatch in summer I don't need to buy this one but I like the changes on case, hands and bracelet.

May be the angle, but the step is more visible on the sapphire. Either way, the sapphire looks great. Love the clasp etc.

Yes, the prices mentionned include VAT.

From my boutique this morning :

I was really hoping 'real' photos would entice me. 馃檨
The unpainted subdial hand nips' really bother me (When a watchmaker damaged my old -69 hands I had to replace them immediately). Would have been great to see more defined subdials, especially at the increased price point.

Is the milky ring still very present? Somehow I thought it would be less on the new one.. I was little bit thinking to maybe get the new sapphire in addition to my current hesalite but I am not fan of the milky ring..

Is anyone else not a fan of the grooves in the bracelet or is it just me?

Overall I鈥檓 a fan. The new Speedy gives the opportunity to many who like the vintage look with the benefits of a modern watch.

Australian pricing is brutal...

Hesalite - $9,575
Sapphire - $10,900

That's a $2k price hike over the previous model. From memory, around 5-6 years ago, the Hesalite Moonwatch was around $5k. 馃檨

Would have liked to see a ceramic bezel and an applied logo on the hesalite version, but it鈥檚 nice nonetheless. Price increase is about what I expected.

Are they keeping the new and old models going? All appear on the Omega site.

Interesting caseback on the hesalite.. Seems the wording may have changed for production...

so the obvious question...buy a discounted 1861 or pay RRP for a 3861

I thought the decision to by a Pro would be easy once I got my FOIS, as it was just a Hesalite v Sapphire question - now I like both the new and old...I dont however need a closet full of Speedys, have a Tokyo and FOIS, so a Pro would be a nice 3 some but which one...oh lord!!!??

The SMPc doesn鈥檛 have the historical chops of the Speedy Pro, but it鈥檚 more watch for the money IMHO.
