Is this Planet Ocean 8900 too big for me?

@ctime3 nailed it. Height is the killer. As a 45.5 3313 owner and can pull it off! I can’t wear the newer PO’s.

Are you sold on the PO? It’s a casual watch. The 300sm can go dress or casual. So can the globemaster.

Also the 39.5mm is only like 14mm thick or something close to that, so the watch should stay decently proportioned.

Is that thinner than the 300mc?

I think it's smaller. I've read that the 300MC is 15mm but I don't own either and can't confirm for sure.

All of these wrist shots miss the point, IMO. How big are your hands? How big are you? How do you dress? Do you give 2 sh!ts what anyone else thinks? Etc, etc, etc. Stand back, look in a full length mirror, and make a decision. And then never think about the size of the watch again.

To me regardless of wrist or watch size , if the watch feels right when you try it on ,then its the right watch .

One thing you have to remember is not what others think of how the watch looks on you but how you feel when you wear the watch...

It is definitely correct to ask about what is the general consensus but that is all it is and honestly... It could be worse, is it bigger than it should be? Yes. Is it ridiculously bigger than it should be? No.

I always say take a photo of the watch on your arm via reflection in a mirror, or have someone take a photo from 5-6 feet away. If it looks too big or too small in the photo, that is a better representation of how it will wear vs looking at it from 18" away or a cell phone photo from 1-2 feet away.

This is why I don't wear a watch smaller than 40-42mm (1st > 2nd photo). In the 3rd photo I'm wearing a 45.5mm Omega Planet Ocean 9300 (during a Bike Tour in Victoria BC during a port call on an Alaskan Cruise).

If you ever have to think about the watch being maybe too big, then it is.

Not necessarily...I thought the CA dial Pan in the big case would wear large and it surprisingly doesn’t. Also the 3313 and 2500 po’s wear a lot smaller then the 45.5 suggests. My GF has a 42mm Seiko that wears huge on me as it has a long lug to lug distance...

Depends on the watch.

....if I had a dollar for every time I've seen this exact question asked, I'd own a Patek.

🙄
I was expecting a quip asking "does this watch make my bum look big"..... which isnt far removed from the original question.

I tried on the 8900 yesterday and I am torn and have been for sometime between this and the seamaster 300 the only issue I found was the thickness height of the watch I felt the fit was very snug for a watch of 43.5 mm. The watch seemed to curve round my wrist.

The 300 is borderline too big, IMO. You can pull it off but think you might want to look at watches under 40mm.

The PO is definitely WAY too big. I think it would be a big mistake. Look especially at the thickness:

Hi guys, I really need your help here 😀
I tried on this Planet Ocean 8900 (43.5mm) and wanted to know if you guys think it's too big for me (my wrist is about 6.5 inches). I'm not sure if the 8800 (39.5mm) version might be better for me. Note that I intend to get this watch with a steel bracelet.

I also tried on the Seamaster 300 which is 41mm. Would be glad to know if you you think it fits me better / it looks better overall.

Thanks so much!

It’s a very personal thing - How it feels and looks to you - but personally I think both the 43 and 41 are too big. 39.5 would be nice.
