Is a Seamaster 300 too big for me?

Hi all! At 42mm, is it too big for my 7-inch wrist? (Wrist-shot attached.)
I'm used to smaller watches. Should I consider a 39.5 Planet Ocean instead? I do like the price point and the technical aspects of the 300. Please let me know what you think!

Sizing is always a problem, I know that from my last thread here at the forums. With that said, I think this look nice on you. The angle for these kind of photos always makes the watch look significantly bigger than it actually is, so often it looks better from the eyes of the "other person" IMHO.

Looks good to my eye, even though it’s a relative close up pic that normally makes the watch look even bigger. There’s no lug overhang and the bracelet curves round versus goes straight down.

All very personal though so make sure you’re happy with it, and not just randomers on the internet. For ref here’s mine on a slightly smaller wrist:

To me, no it doesn’t look too big. I have 7” wrists as well and feel that 39mm is my “sweet spot” but I really enjoy 42mm too. I think that watch looks really good and fitting for your wrist. Also, wrist shot pics always make the watch look bigger than it is. My 34mm watch in a wrist shot looks so much bigger in picture than in person.

sorry for this low quality pic. It’s a still of a video.

And 34mm

Looks perfect to me. A sports watch should have a presence on your wrist, which that one does. Also, the PO will be thicker, so consider that.

I think it’s a perfect size!

Omega have nailed this model.

Looks fine to me, here is my 42mm speedy on a 6.75 wrist (albeit quite a flat wrist).

Thanks! Sweet Air King! 34mm is a classic size for vintage!

Looks lovely to me. I once worried about larger watches on smaller wrists, but it's just a question of what you are used to.

After wearing a Speedmaster for decades, putting on my "WatchCo" version of the vintage Seamaster 300 was quite a change that took me a long time to get used to.

Give it a while, it might grow on you.

Sorry, no idea if it's to large or if your wrist colour matches the dial, but the guys over at WUS have more expertise with this kind of concerns in case you can't decide that by yourself. Recommended to ask there too.

Another option would be to consider the previous model (glossy non-wave dial, solid case back with the hippocampus medallion and the 2500D movement). It’s it a bit narrower at 41mm and also a bit thinner. I actually had an opportunity to compare it with the new version and decided that I liked the older model better. Anyway, here’s what it looks like on my 7.5” wrist.

I thought my SMP would be huge since I am used to smaller watches. Compared to watches of similar size it wears smaller, and looks great. I think you will love it.

Wrist size is confusing. If you take the whole circumference it doesn’t really tell you what the actual width of your wrist is. You could have a relatively narrow wrist that is thick and your measurement will be off. I would just measure the width where my watch sits.
