Hello,

I am wavering between buying this connie or not. I would like to have your opinion on wether the watch is completely rusty or is simply dirty.
The few signs that tell me the watch isn’t completely covered in rust are the fact that the dial is in really good shape meaning that the inside the watch might be clean. Also on the bezel near the 11 o’clock what might have been some smudge like the rest of the case seems to have been removed.
Other than that the lugs are pretty sharp to my eye.

thanks 😀

That is just gunk, it will wipe off. Watch looks pretty good overall 👍

I agree with Sharp. Also think that will clean up nicely with a bit of elbow grease.

Case and dial (what can be seen) looks good but crown is not original and its missing the bezel.
What’s the asking price?

Actually, this is an auction and the price is currently at 560 euros.
Also are you sure that the watch is missing the bezel ? If so is this part easy to source ? Thanks

This could go two ways in my experience: either the people you are up against are too afraid to touch it because of the dirt and you get it for a good price or the state draws in many buyers looking to get a good deal because of the former, driving the price up so it's then not a good deal.

Either way I think its a nice watch if you can get it for the right price.

To me it looks like the bezel is missing, but can just be the dirt and angle fooling. On these pictures it almost looks like a stepped case

Compared to mine 168.005 where the steps are not visiable:

I think it's the dirt and pictures fooling - to me it looks like the bezel is there.

Nice, sharp lugs but the gunk is so disgusting that the seller is afraid to touch it with bare hands.

€560 plus commission of I guess at least 20% takes it already up to €670. If you can get it at or around €700 then it is a decent deal, over that once you've fixed it up with a service and crown you're already in for €1000 which isn't too bad, but not quite the bargain it could have been had this been a watch found out in the wild

If you don't want it, I'll take it 😗. As others said, it will definitely clean up nicely!

Some (bad) news 👎
The auction ended at 960 euros, which is too high when considering the tax, crown and service in addition.
It would have brought me to ~1600 euros final price after every cost considered
Thanks anyways for your insights 😉

Someone got a steal at 960 euro. Looks like a wonderful example. I would have paid more. Only setback is the corroded hour hand. The crown is easily replaceable. A movement pic would have been nice to see if the onyx markers are correctly in the expected serial range.
