Is there such a thing as a watch that ends this madness?

I'm content with my watch every single day that I have other bills and priorities that come first.

When those are taken care of and I have free time to read these forums, the itch for another or better watch comes back. Haha

We all suffer from W.A.S - Watch Acquisition Syndrome. There is no known cure for it. Good luck to us all.

I would call it Watch o philia....Trying to curb it with my tax rebate money but I ...just...can't stop...Maybe a patek nautilus may just cure me of this lust

When your spouse leaves you and the bank forecloses on your house, then you'll know you've gone too far.

Agree with where you are coming from, but as a Constellation aficionado I think I'd stop looking if I was to find one of these out in the wild.

Naw, I really don't need any more watches... ooooh! what is that?

Sounds like we have a ton of folks here in the Museum business.

Always good to know we all share the same affliction.

I do self ban WRUW for weeks at a time to save funds 馃う

Funny I have found my end of line diver and I was a diver watch guy way before vintage watches. Had so many for the last 20 years and the 1000m Certina DS-3 reissue is it. How it wears on the wrist more than anything

In my case it could be or maybe it's just a pause; recently I'm not so filled with the lust to acquire - oh just the odd bracelet or two - but to enjoy what I have. Cut some of the excess out.

Hey, it's not too bad...

Face it gang we are a support group and hopefully it's more socially acceptable than many of the other vices that exist (it is certainly not cheaper): "My name is paedipod and I am a watchaholic......I have not bought a watch for 90 days (if you don't count trades and the one I bought for my wife)"

It may have been a wise squirrel, pre-meltdown, explained it as being like wine. There are good wines, great wines and always crap to drink. There is a market and the hunt is part of the excitement and once a specific bottle is acquired there is the choice of what to do....drink it or hoard it, or sell it onwards. There are price points and depending upon the day you might be happy with a $10 bottle, a $40 bottle or a $100 bottle. Beyond that the fineries of finishing, in-house manufacture etc. really come in to play as well as a sophistication of palate that many of us lack but aspire to. So, if you are a $40 bottle person, do you settle back happily with all the good ones in this range and drink them, or do you sell everything for that "grail" and put it in the safe/cellar never to see the light of day except for "pictures or it didn't happen".

Translating a little so there are not too many WTF posts: Kind of like @watchknut said above.....happy with the best of what I appreciate ($40 bottle = 5513), maybe not ready for the $500 bottle=DRSD.

Have a thoughtful weekend....I will be at work.

I am not lying! Those statements I made were alternative facts.

A patek Nautilus or a Daytona should end my lust for new watches!
