Hi all: here's the outcome . . . I felt like right now, an SMP 300m--awesome as it is--wasn't quite right for me. I needed something more affordable. Maybe when a vaccine comes out, I'll celebrate with a 300m! Until then, however, I am enjoying my new Sinn 104:

Congrats on your choice! Sinn makes one heck of a tool watch. I often have a Sinn 103 strapped on my wrist at work. That countdown bezel comes in handy all the time.
T Tyro RexLooks great on you. I tried one of these on just yesterday when I was getting another watch sized, and I have a 7-inch wrist too. I like it so much that it will probably be my next watch (but in a few months, at least!).
Hi all! At 42mm, is it too big for my 7-inch wrist? (Wrist-shot attached.)
I'm used to smaller watches. Should I consider a 39.5 Planet Ocean instead? I do like the price point and the technical aspects of the 300. Please let me know what you think!
Congrats on reaching a satisfactory conclusion. I have the 39.5 Planet Ocean. That's my biggest watch and it's as big as I would go. So I understand your concern. That said both watches looked good on you based on the photo. But there's more too it -- are you tall, are your arms long, are your hands big? All of it adds up to the sense of proportion imho. And then, how do YOU think it looks?
Looks good to my eye, even though it’s a relative close up pic that normally makes the watch look even bigger. There’s no lug overhang and the bracelet curves round versus goes straight down.
All very personal though so make sure you’re happy with it, and not just randomers on the internet. For ref here’s mine on a slightly smaller wrist:
