^^ So take something out of it and put it in your pocket.

I carry a couple 3 cf bailout bottles in carry-on (mainly so I can argue with the gate agent in the event they are denied, which I have yet to see). So they say "You're 2 kg over the limit". I open the carry-on, pull them out and put one in each front pocket. Once they hand my carry-on back, I put the bottles back in, right in front of them.

I know it doesn't accomplish anything, but it feels good.

Last lockdown picture for a couple of weeks... I appear to have broken a spoke on the back wheel, and the bike shops are booked solid!

Windy evening out there.

Lockdown looks over.
Just watched the news and they showed how many people got off a train and a bus in London yesterday. 😲

NY > SFO. 10% full...

Exactly, and 90% of us, all airliners worldwide, are bound to be stranded at home for God knows how long.

Lockdown is still very much on - public transport is running as bare bones, and the idiots in government sent a lot of working class folks back to work, with no other means of transport.

The Mayor of London is calling out the government on their BS, and angrily telling people to stay home.

I can confirm that London remains closed and mostly empty, but building sites did reopen on Monday.

I’m quite enjoying it. No queues, peace and quiet except United weren’t budging when it came to baggage allowance. Wouldn’t even let the bags be over by half a kilogram...which is absurd given the flight is virtually empty.

Pilots needs to calculate how much fuel does the aircraft need to be filled with considering a number of reasons. The more fuel that get's in it, the less economical that flight will be and less good for the environment.

I've been working and driving the 50mile commute through the lockdown. We've been working on DoT funded schemes for the local highways authority and told to carry on (although I wouldn't class them as essential - is anything). That first week the roads were properly empty. (see slightly irresponsible photo of rush hour on the A12), but they have been slowly getting busier this last 2 weeks, with a marked increase this week. Still I would say at 25% of pre-lockdown volumes.

I was in London again this week as Lockdown 'ended' - I did not see a big increase in travel. I think WFH is here to stay for a while when it is possible. Here are a few more random pictures from the London Bridge area. I grabbed a first class seat home as it was not busy (empty) and the funky LED lights look good for my Globemaster :0). Hopefully the ramp up to some kind of normal goes ok / stay safe everyone..

I have struggled to get a picture of the Shard for years …. made another attempt today. Still very quiet in London but getting busier.

Oh, I know. I’ve been to London and used the Tube. I’m just speaking in generalities.
I think we're pretty fortunate in the UK. We have excellent cross country rail infrastructure (as opposed to France, for example, where every journey needs to go through Paris), mostly modern trains. The Bakerloo and Piccadilly line trains in London are well past their sell by date, though. Nearly fifty years old.

I was not planning to post (will not post) again on this one - but the weather was amazing on Friday and being no London expert I still think the Southbank is under appreciated. The Sunshine / natural light compensated for my poor camera phone.
Great to be able to buy coffee and a bacon roll at the station / seeing Borough market trading again - reasons to be cheerful.
Tate Modern always looks like a work of art. The Shard is as hard to photo as ever. I hope the Golden Hind and the Globe theatre survive the lockdown. St Pauls has lasted since 1708 and survived the blitz so should do ok. I don't think the Millennium Bridge will last 300 years (or me :0)

Great photos, especially the last one! Prompted me to knock up a Sunday morning bacon sandwich!

I was in and around London on Tuesday 17th November 2020 (approved for work). I thought with UK lockdown '2' I would put some new pictures up....Very quiet again although a bit busier in some areas. The pics below include what was the most expensive flat in London..... a snip at £160 million :0)

I walked into Luxembourg City with the family yesterday expecting a scene similar to London. What we found was utter bedlam on the streets, people out Christmas shopping (Santa comes to the kids here on the 6th December). Every cafe and pub was full and queues to get into the city carparks.

We are experiencing between 500 to 800 new daily cases here. We test between 10,000 to 12,000 people daily which is a lot for a population of 600,000 inhabitants in the entire country. These test levels have been the same since the beginning of the pandemic so basically the entire country is tested every six weeks, I go for test number 6 next week and its all free.
