As a frequent visitor before I retired, I miss London terribly. So sad to see it so barren. Sadly Chicago looks similar and I long for a return to normalcy.

I love London, its absolutely my favourite city in the world. It's a city that has everything you could want to see and do and it does it with style and panache. It's also the home of my beloved Chelsea FC KTBFFH.

The only thing I will miss when this is all over is the lack of traffic.

Airport train into London. Am I the only person here? Yes! 😲

Look you can take off your watch and put it down without somebody nicking it.

It can be a bit of a mixed bag - For London there are older stations / trains - depends on the route.
Years ago I was a member of a UK INDY film group, mostly sci fi films and supplied the group with ideas for places to film.
There's an old London subway long closed down that I found interesting. Part of the tunnel and station had been preserved in as new condition while the rest had been allowed to deteriorate with age.
My idea was to use these areas for a time travel sequence. The preserved portion representing the present while the badly crumbling portion would be the post apocalyptic future.
Subway tunnels feature prominently in old British sci fi and horror films.

One thing I found interesting was that to avoid eyesores in the city some buildings necessary for the subway system were disguised as palatial homes and apartment buildings. Hollow facades.
These occasionally were plot gimmicks in detective films.

Couple of my part of town without Covid 19

why do I get the feeling the pictures were the same... pre-covid.

in fact, I wonder if you even bothered to take fresh pictures, perhaps those are the pre-covid "crowd" pictures, who's to know!

Funny as the last picture, head office is always working on a plan to make it safe driving there by ourselves which we do a bit. To save $$s by having a Sat phone. But couldn't find anything the last 3 attempts. We usually get the new group to google the Kimberlys WA and it dies off for another 6 months.

Toronto’s Bay subway station has a ghost platform underneath it. It’s been in a lot of movies as well

So here we go again. It seems a bit busier compared to March 20 but I think that will change in the coming days. For the most part it is still a very surreal experience / more than a tad dystopian.

Afraid my rainchecks may be expiring. Ah well - last time the government closed all the playhouses for health security, we got King Lear out of it...

Interesting...walking near empty streets with all the shops closed. Here that was once called "Sunday"...

So we are able to visit the pub and sit down for Grub again.... only outside... but still a step back towards normal.
I naturally thought the press had turned up for the breaking news that I could again have a full English.... and chips for breakfast again.... but turns out there was some kind of football super-league issue kicking off :0)

I've been working and driving the 50mile commute through the lockdown. We've been working on DoT funded schemes for the local highways authority and told to carry on (although I wouldn't class them as essential - is anything). That first week the roads were properly empty. (see slightly irresponsible photo of rush hour on the A12), but they have been slowly getting busier this last 2 weeks, with a marked increase this week. Still I would say at 25% of pre-lockdown volumes.

Update on above. A12 back to normal!!!
