Oh, I know. I’ve been to London and used the Tube. I’m just speaking in generalities.

would you be willing to pay higher taxes in the USA for a better subway?

Ah yeah mate.
We're all keepin' outa the big smoke down here as well.
No sense goin' inta the city and gettin' all germy an stuff.
We just go to the beach where it's safe.

Typical bloody Sydneysiders (FIFY) 🙄
Meanwhile in Melbourne this weekend, Melburnians did what they do well -- protesting in front of Parliament House. 🤦 Anti-vax, anti-lockdown, anti-5G and any other sundry issues including apparently that Bill Gates needs to be arrested for sponsoring mass vaccinations. A few might even have protested about the continued closure of the Omega Boutique .... Nah, not likely.

I've been getting out a couple of times a week for a cycle (approved, very socially distant, exercise) - London without all the people and traffic is lovely! 😁

Nice shot of the Gherkin - I had a visit there a few years back and got another shot of Tower Bridge - The Gherkin is not that big at the top and only 180m tall - which makes a Saturn 5 (111m tall) even more crazy. Maybe the Mars ship team could travel in style :0)

Love these abandoned urban landscapes. I surely hope some of the pro photog’s out there are taking the opportunity to document these places in a state we most likely will never see again....let’s hope.

Very strange to see the cities looking empty- here in rural France it is pretty much as normal

But it's a bit creepy to see these landscapes empty when they were built to house and support people as they go about their daily lives. The energy of human life is sucked out of the situation.

Don't worry spaffer blo jo winston & his merry band of henchmen will have everyone back to work by the middle of next week....
With their new shiny eye catching slogan catchphrase, & the new rules worked out on the back of an ascot betting slip
Your good to go....
But this applies only to the hallowed land of England ....
I'm a Scot & as far as i can remember the united kingdom is made up of 4 countries Scotland, Wales,Northern Ireland, England.
The new zingy catchy slogan is not being applied to the other countries...
It's as much good as a chocolate tea pot.....
Never mind the consequences it sounds good & snappy & as clear as mud.....
Not surprising that employee's have serious reservations & doubts about returning to work.
Given the circumstances & of course if there are any jobs left
Just a thought....
Take care in these very difficult time...

The raptor is used to keep away the pigeons at Kings Cross station - he is allowed to free fly now most of those pesky humans are out of the way.
Your photo capturing the hawk has to be close to award material - wow!

Took a day off work today (mostly to get away from another day filled with endless Zoom meetings), and went out for a ride into the city - headed to the three IWM sites - HMS Belfast, The Imperial War Museum, and the Churchill War Rooms.

A nice, if very windy, 39km ride.

I think we'll have plenty of opportunity. Maybe once a winter, maybe more often. Time will tell.

I’m quite enjoying it. No queues, peace and quiet except United weren’t budging when it came to baggage allowance. Wouldn’t even let the bags be over by half a kilogram...which is absurd given the flight is virtually empty.
