Perfect all around time piece (IMO), I’d stick with this, even though it’s common, it gets my vote

This 38 years old Citizen bullhead chronograph, because it's just awesome.

So as I see the question, the correct (!)answer must include: dependable, repairable, attractive and large smile factor.

Here are my top four candidates.

and then you realise that you need something to mow the grass and go out on the boat with.... have to add a beater as well

Munch my nuts, squirrel.

This would be the one. A brand new ‘first one ever’. Best of all worlds.

Gets a double like for :

“Munch my nuts, squirrel “. Respect

easy peasy. The watch that had to be dumbed down to make a Daytona.

Beautiful watch!!

Of late the Milgauss has been catching my eye more and more as I frequent my AD. Have resisted trying it on so far as I'm scared it will lead to another purchase!!!

I was told that OF doesn't work without photos, so here goes.
I love to wear my pre moon speedys

However, since I'm only allowed to keep one watch it has to be waterproof with a date function. One strong candidate is my "SD4K" 116600.

The perfect modern Rolex diver IMO. 40mm, glide lock, ceramic insert, no cyclops, maxi dial, no SUBc "maxi case", great proportions (size of case/dial/bezel), blue chromalight lume, satin dial (glossy in some lighting and matte in some), and, as a bonus, a very short production period (introduced on Basel 2014, discontinued on Basel 2017 along with the introduction of the 43mm Red Dweller with cyclops.)

Aaaanyway. This Rolex Sea Dweller is not my one watch pick. My pick is a watch that owns the SD4K when it comes to comfort, and that actually makes all the difference for me and my slender wrist in this peculiar dilemma. My one watch pick is my SMP 2254.50. Very slim, light and comfy (despite its 41mm) with beautiful sword hands, black wavy dial, and the superb "speedmaster" bracelet. Just look at it.

One watch, lol. I wonder if there is anyone on this forum that owns just one watch? Not counting no nuffin bloke who has his dad's most awesome speedy.

I will play along. For me it's this one.

Now when I hit retirement age, I'm going all out with the gold skeleton speedy on a gold bracelet. That will be my daily wearer. And I'm going to post it every day in WRUW. 15 more years until I start posting that one daily, so look out!

Yes!, that is the one. Just need to sell a couple of watches in order to buy the gold bracelet. I have been looking for a used one, but have yet to see one come up for sale, so will be buying one from the OB.

A very hard decision, eventually decided this is the one I could never sell.

That's a really tough one.

If I had to pick between the following two, it would have to be the Ti Planet Ocean 9300. I don't get a runner up like the OP, so only if the Planet Ocean was nuked in war would I pick #ST1. The Planet Ocean has been my daily wear 5 out of 7 days.
