If you could only keep one watch...

Why not just tell us what watch you'd keep? 馃嵖

I did - the Breitling, a Seiko Pepsi (subject to change to a different model diver from that brand every few years), and a handful of dress watches. This "one watch" fallacy is ludicrous hypothetical mumbling. If you're here, you don't, and almost certainly can't bring yourself to, own only one watch. We're all afflicted with the same disease and there is no cure. 馃槣

There is a cure: More watches.

@ulackfocus :
So, you鈥檙e going to ask Christopher Walken to carry two or more watches?

Good luck with that.

Yeah, I considered the topic of the post for about 10 seconds, and then decided I couldn't even begin to be happy with fewer than 10 watches.

Sorry can't do it , These kind of threads frighten me . Why because the thought of owning just one watch to me ,would be like wearing the same clothes & eating the same food every day for the rest of your life .Nothing wrong with that but for me variety is the spice of life .

I've seen at least 15 Rolexes and 8 or 9 Speedmasters in this thread, which leads me to one conclusion: too many people follow the herd.
Always keep in mind: The more are following the herd, the cheaper and the more other watches for us... 馃榿

To join in the conversation, because, like many of you, I just can't imagine. The one that a short while ago I wouldn't consider getting rid of: Bremont S500 North Sea,

Now I'm Thinking this:

As in you wear it to the beach, when you're working on the car, when you're mowing the lawn, and during other potential damaging tasks?

Like using it at the gym on a daily basis?

Then yes, I think it qualifies as a beater.

There we go - using a tool watch as a tool instead of babying it. Thank you!

My two favorite watches are the 300mc and the Speedmaster, but I think I'm more of a chronograph guy in the end.

That's why we like speedmasters - they're the same but ever so subtlety different... its like buying the same t-shirt but in different colors.

I 鈾ワ笍 this thread!

*** Any member who owns a ______________ (fill in Omega Speedmaster or Rolex of any type) because they _______________ (fill in inherited it as a family heirloom or were gifted it from a family member or significant other) is exempt from the rest of this post.

I've seen at least 15 Rolexes and 8 or 9 Speedmasters in this thread, which leads me to one conclusion: too many people follow the herd. Guess that's why it's a herd though, eh? Okay everyone, say it with me:

Baaaaa aaaaa aaaaaaah!

Just remember that you started it. 馃槣

He just gained a ton of points with me too! Nicely done VWZ. 馃憤

hey squirrel @ulackfocus is suggest that all the rolex one watch guys get a free account on TRF and a ban here for at least 4 weeks :whipped:

Would love to hear the reasons ... bla bla cuz of their rich history ... which is ?

Ahh they work with COMEX
- nice try, yes as official retailer and because they were cheaper than omega

Ahh they were in every military
- muahahah yes but failed in every military test at least in first try. so they were sold regularly

Ahhh they invented stainless steel 1985
- Ok ok i give up

Nuff said

If I could keep only one I would give the rest to my wife and then borrowing them from her. But I reckon that is cheating the thread intention. I have said it before here - It would be my plain Djane datejust. It is the perfect watch overall. Not the best at anything but an overall winner. It ticks all boxes. It is vintage (1967), it has a stepped dial, it is waterproof for real, it has a plexi crystal, there are parts in abundance, it is as good as cash if stranded in a little village in Peru and you need to get out, it is discrete. It is classy. Alternating between an oyster, a jubilee bracelet and an alligator strap you can use it at board meetings, for the beach and swim, tinkering with cars, etc. Suit, jeans, shorts, etc. You can be any age using it. Man or woman and/or anything in between.

So many Rolexes! Isn't there a forum for Rolexes? Doesn't anyone besides me like Connies?

Mine, probably this one. Seller's photo, I have it on steel bracelet. A modest but excellent steel watch that is a great daily wearer and gains only about 2 seconds per day.
