Chris, I'm sorry to hear it wasn't quite the right match, but I'm certain the right gig will come along for you; a positive attitude such as the one you possess goes a heck of a long way to success... pullin' for ya all the way 馃憤!

Bummer about the new gig, I doubt many people have the guts to cut bait so quickly when they realize a new company isn't a good fit.

My wife and daughter enjoy America's Got Talent and there was a character in 2015 I'm often reminded of when I see your avatar...

Thanks. My husband and I both practice law. It's a hard habit to break.
Practice! ... Lawyers screwed up my pothole compensation claim! You people need to practice a bit more so you can get it right!::rimshot::

At least he's magical... I have three brothers, not a card trick between them!

Not to sound like our squirrelly friend, can we please not turn this into a thread about Speedmasters? Ta.
I'm in an airport lounge and this made me laugh, as in the "out loud" kind.

I don't always understand why speedy fans are criticized for overly pushing their interest, but I was totally with you on this one. Even I shook my head (with a smile) when this of all threads got taken down that road... 馃槈

In my defense, the OP commented "Speedmaster Auctions head north of 'sensible'."

I didn't introduce the subject to the thread. I merely commented on his comment. What should one expect from a fan of Ford products? Shaking my head.

Probably a contemporary Mustang. 馃槜

Late 90s? 2000s? I'm thinking V6 but with the really big pipes to create some kind of sound.

Ford products?

I'm a Volkswagen kind of guy.

And despite having no job to go to in the morning, it's 12:45am... so I'm calling it a night.

Play nice whilst I'm gone. 馃檮

No worries! It's been a hot topic recently (unbeknownst to you and other newcomers) that too many threads turn into Speedmaster threads. You said nothing wrong and @tyrantlizardrex replied to you in good spirited fun.

Ha ha!! My nickname comes from a time in the mid nineties when I did in fact own a 90's Mustang... it was a V8 5.0L and it did make loud sounds. Maybe not the "coolest" of cars in the eyes of many, but then I bought it for the simple reason that it was the lowest $/hp an 18 y/o could buy at the time. It was a lot of fun for the 6 years I had it.

I have recently been thinking about getting a new GT convertible (I'm turning 40 later this year, I'm not sure it qualifies as mid-life crisis, but maybe?). Pretty sure you'll still find this cringeworthy (as does my lovely wife as well). 馃槈

Combined with this, the company has just been bought by a much larger company that runs all of the arms fairs in the world... and that didn't sit very well with my morals... especially after I met the team at "defence and security" last Wednesday.
Good on you! I once pulled out of a watch sale when the bank account that they wanted me to transfer it into was a firearms manufacturer.

I guess I shouldn't say what business I'm in then. It ain't unicorns and rainbows. More of the kinetic application of diplomacy type thing. Takes all types to make the world go 'round.

I would personally say that there's a large difference between those who do what's necessary to protect a way of life, and those who profit from unnecessary warfare. It's not a black or white issue; I have the utmost respect for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines while despising the politicians who send them off to die in the greedy quest for oil or defense contractor profits.
